MAC’s Archie’s Girls Collection was officially launched tonight with a jive dancing performance by 2 pairs of dancers dressed in 50s costumes a la Happy Days. It’s been a long day for me so I’ll have to continue with the collection another day. I leave you with some photos of the dancers. By the way, yours truly was dragged on to the dance floor for a little spin. Haven’t danced in more than 20 years!

Yesterday I featured the Betty and Veronica lip products and nail lacquers. Here’s the rest of the products:-

Pearlmatte Face Powder RM115 Flatter Me & Veronica’s Blush

Very pretty and cute design on the powders. These are powders with a pearly finish and are used in the same way as MAC’s Beauty Powder, i.e. to highlight the high panels of the face. I can see myself using Flatter Me as a blush as I like peach cheek shades.

Powder Blush RM86 Cream Soda & Prom Princess

I definitely prefer the neutral coral of Cream Soda to the violet pink of Prom Princess which I think would be more suitable for those with darker skin tones. Actually, Prom Princess would make quite a nice eye shadow, in my opinion. Like the Pearlmatte Face Powders, I wish these came with mirrors.

Pigment RM88 Cheers My Dear, Lucky In Love, Magic Spells, Black Poodle

I like the lavender shade of Cheers My Dear quite a bit followed by Lucky In Love. Cheers My Dear is such a lovely pastel shade and can be paired with some of my purple shadows. I don’t know what to do with Magic Spells and Black Poodle other than use them as eye liners. I think they would look too heavy and intense on me.

Eye Shadow Palette Spoiled Rich RM160 –  Pin-Up Purple, Spoiled Rich, Ron Ron Run, Gravel

It was easier to swatch the shadows in the Spoiled Rich Palette although I prefer the shades in the Caramel Sundae Palette which are more wearable on a daily basis. Unless you like purple and dark shades, you would not go for the Spoiled Rich Palette. In each palette are 2 frosts, 1 satin and 1 matte texture shadow. I think I would need a primer to get the Caramel Sundae Palette colours to show up. Anyway, I happen to have both palettes so I should review!

Brush Kit RM268

Too cute to use. If I had this, I’d keep it pristine for a long, long time.

Opulash Optimum Black Mascara RM70

Part of the permanent collection, there’s no need to get this unless you really like the design on the tube with either Betty or Veronica’s image.

Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner RM72 Lord It Up & Black Swan

Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner RM72 Petrol Blue & Designer Purple

Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners are repromotes. I have purchased Black Swan before and it wasn’t smudge-proof for me. They are really quite soft. When I was swatching Designer Purple, the tip broke. From my previous experience with Black Swan, they finish faster than their other pencil liners as they are softer.

When I was at MAC MidValley yesterday, I spotted these candy boxes. Apparently, they are complimentary (while stocks last) with any purchase from the Archie’s Girls Collection.

  1. i think the most interesting from the collection would be the Pearlmatte Face Powder RM115 Flatter Me & Veronica’s Blush.
