Finally I got to try Liese Brown Bubble Hair Color, a box of which was in MIVVA’s June Box. Looking at the drugstore shelves which display Liese hair colours, I can tell they are popular. Perhaps it’s got something to do with the fact that they are relatively easy to use compared to other hair colours which have to be applied to each strand of hair. With Liese, all you have to do is mix the two solutions and squeeze out the foam on to hair and shampoo with it coating each strand without much effort. There are plenty of choices when it comes to colours ranging from bright pinks to more conservative colours.
My shade is Raspberry Brown which is brown with a pink-raspberry tone. In the box are a pair of disposable gloves, two solutions in two separate bottles and a wash-off treatment. I could have done this at home but to minimise staining of my skin, I had it done at the salon.
There’s a lot more foam that expected in one bottle. I thought I would need two boxes so I brought an extra box which I purchased from the drugstore to the salon but as it turned out, one bottle was sufficient even for my long and thick hair.
The foam was massaged into my hair and left there for 20-30 minutes. There was no strong stench of ammonia but I could feel some of it dripping on to my neck despite the towels around me. In fact, a bit of it stained my t-shirt.
It looks more or less the same as my previous hair colour. I don’t think it could have been much lighter since my hair was quite dark to begin with. I would use this product again but I’d have to take extra precautions against it staining my clothes.
