Due to Sasa at MidValley moving to another location in the mall (actually, the new outlet is just a stone’s throw away from the existing outlet), they had a Clearance Sale recently at which selected items were available at a substantial discount. I had been too busy to check it out at the start of the Clearance Sale so I missed out on some DKNY and Escada fragrances which were all gone by the time I moseyed over there.
At the entrance of Sasa, there were some A’kin products on sale and I have always wanted to try A’kin skincare but they weren’t discounted enough (much less than 50%) so I passed on them. What next? At the back of the store were a range of Stendhal skincare. The only problem was the products had neither manufacturing nor expiry dates and I really dislike it when that is the case.
Nevertheless, these Stendhal products were more than half price off. That was enough to arouse my curiousity and interest. I began to look at each product closely. There were milk cleansers, toners, eye gels, moisturisers and then I saw the Recette Marveilleuse Firming Mask. Any Firming Mask would be of interest to me.
Firming Masks are just what I need! The Recette Marveilleuse range is Stendhal’s Youth Control Care and there are a lot of products in this range although not all are available at this Clearance Sale. Apparently, Sasa at MidValley did not stock Stendhal products at other times. I understand that they are available at Sasa Selective outlets.
This gel mask feels slightly cool on contact with my skin. It spreads on easily and I put on 2 layers as the first layer was too thin. It’s easier to remove if the layer is sufficiently thick otherwise the mask may come off bit by bit instead of in one clean piece. There is a scent which is acceptable to me thoough it may not be to people who dislike stronger than average scents in their skincare.
Although the instructions stated that the Stendhal Firming Mask would dry in 15-20 minutes, I waited longer than that since my mask still felt moist to the touch after 20 minutes and I wanted it to be really dry before peeling it off. As it dried, my skin felt tighter and tauter. I like that feeling, it’s like my skin is firming up.
It was easy enough to remove and it didn’t feel as if my skin was getting pulled. I haven’t seen any signs of tightening, toning or firming but then again I have only used it a couple of times. I wouldn’t have paid the original price of RM149 for this 100ml tube as I don’t know anything about this brand (their official website has a picture of this mask and it retails at 49 Euros for 75ml. However, since it was on sale at RM44, it’s worth a try.
I should point out that there is one MAJOR flaw with this product and that is in its very crappy packaging because the 2nd time I opened the cap, the middle ring inside the cap (which is suppose to fit neatly over the opening of the tube) broke. When I heard the snapping sound, I knew I was in trouble. Now it won’t close properly and I just hope the product doesn’t dry up. If only for this reason, the products isn’t worth even half its original retail price.
