There aren’t many Western restaurants in town that offer relatively reasonable prices which is why most of us can only indulge in Western food in a nice ambiance once in a while. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go to a Western restaurant where you don’t have to fork out more than RM50 for 2 pax?

Rendezvous Steak Garden on Jalan Kampung Pandan just a stone’s throw from the place I dread going to, Zebra Square is one such place. No air-con, just al fresco dining under canopies so perhaps that is why they can keep prices lower than other similar establishments. The al fresco ambiance doesn’t deter a steady stream of customers every evening (they are only open for dinner) and it’s great that parking is ample as well as free.

Potato Skins RM8.80

The potato skins are quite a small portion but do they pack a punch in terms of taste! Oozing with cheese and loaded with sliced mushrooms and other yummy stuff, these potato skins were fantastic. They didn’t just tickle my taste buds, they caressed them tenderly.

Lemon Grilled Fish RM13.80

The fish fillet comes in a generous portion, served with fries and a small salad. Grilled to perfection, the taste is tangy, lemon goes so well with grilled fish.

Marmalade Grilled Fish RM15.80

Smothered in a cheesy sauce which can be too overwhelming, the Marmalade Grilled Fish also comes with fries and salad. I prefer the Lemon Grilled Fish. There’s way too much sauce and I don’t love the slightly bitter sauce.
