Aimee Mullins has been appointed as the latest L’oreal Paris spokesperson. Cyril Chapuy, Global Brand President of L’oreal Paris says “Aimee embodies perfectly the L’oreal woman. Sublime, charismatic, strong. Her life is extraordinary in all meanings possible”.

Despite being born with a limb anomaly and losing both of her legs when she was one year old, Aimee embarked upon a stellar athletic career while attending Georgetown University on a full academic scholarship. She was the first woman with prosthetic legs to compete in top-level NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) competitions.

In 2007, she became the president of the Women’s Sports Foundation. She then turned her focus to the world of fashion and became a muse to Alexander McQueen, walking the runway in his London show using intricately carved wooden prosthetics.

People magazine included her in their list of the “World’s 50 Most Beautiful People”. She has also appeared in films such as “Cremaster 3”. She has been featured in magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, Sports Illustrated, Life, Glamour and Elle.
