All About Eve Lom

Although I wasn’t privileged enough to be invited to the launch of Eve Lom, there is a review here on their cult product, the award-winning Cleanser. Thanks to Bag Of Love, I was able to attend the recent Eve Lom workshop presented by the brand’s Education and Training Manager, Riese Ferraro. Finally, time to get some enlightenment on Eve Lom products. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again!

This was a hands-on workshop which is of course much, much better than just sitting on your chair, watching the demo and listening to the presented go on about the benefits of the products without being able to experience it for yourself. In this way, we were introduced to all the brand’s products.

Firstly, Riese Ferraro introduced the brand as one that offers simple, beautiful and effective skincare. This is skincare that is not confusing but gives a total routine, recreating the spa experience in your home. The products are multi-tasking and the routine is a simple one which you can follow everyday for beautiful skin all year round. The key ingredients have specific benefits for the skin.

The star product is of course the Cleanser which was introduced 25 years ago. It was an innovative product as it was the 1st ever balm product, the formula remains unchanged and has won numerous awards in magazines and in the professional industry.

Cleanser 50ml/RM215, 100ml/RM295, 200ml/RM455

 The Cleanser has the following benefits:-

• Deep cleanses without drying or stripping the skin and removes even the most stubborn of waterproof make-up
• Thorough cleansing and gentle exfoliation enables skin cells to regenerate quickly and provides a vital receptive base for beauty products to work at their best
• Decongests and with the signature massage technique helps drain toxins
• Exfoliates, tones, improves circulation when combined with the specially woven Muslin Cloth
• Softens and conditions the skin

Key ingredients are clove oil to encourage clear skin, eucalyptus oil to drain away toxins, hops oil to tone, Egyptian chamomile oil to calm, cocoa butter for hydration and nourishment and papaya enzyme to exfoliate and brighten skin. The muslin cloth is for extra exfoliation.

To maximise the efficacy/increase the benefits of the Cleanser, there is a 7-step massage which promotes a clearer and more radiant complexion. The massage is based on lymphatic drainage techniques and focuses on acupressure.

Before applying the Cleanser on skin, warm it up between palms first and then massage it on dry face following the 7-step movement. The Cleanser gently dissolves all traces of oil and make-up, there no need for a separate eye make-up remover. It’s best to use this in the shower so the steam activates the oils in the Cleanser.

Then gently wipe off the Cleanser with the muslin cloth twice. The muslin cloth should be soaked in warm water the 1st 2 times and for the 3rd rinse, in cold water so pores are closed up. It did feel quite good using this Cleanser because it felt like my skin had a thorough cleanse what with the muslin cloth wiping away the impurities.

Rescue Mask 50ml (tube)/RM185, 100ml (jar)/RM295

This is a clay-based mask with cooling camphor to decongest, almond extract to reduce redness, kaolin to absorb excess oil, reduce puffiness and ground almonds to gently exfoliate. Also contains honey and glycerine to condition and soften skin.

It decongests and detoxifies for radiant skin and can be left on for 20 minutes. To remove, just massage it with wet fingertips and clean off with the Cleanser muslin cloth. It didn’t harden until my skin felt tight and uncomfortable.

Moisture Mask

Eve Lom’s latest product is a gel-based moisture mask. This intense skin boost is designed to be used twice a week or whenever skin feels thirsty and dehydrated. It is especially suitable for those who take long flights and those who love using sheet masks. There is no need to rinse this off, just tissue off the excess after 20 minutes. For a more cooling effect, leave the tub in the fridge. Good for hydrating sunburned skin. I like this mask as it felt soothing and it’d be great as a sleeping mask.

Cuticle Cream 7ml/RM85

The Cuticle Cream softens cuticles and strengthens nail growth. Contains sweet almond oil and chamomile to soothe and heal, yarrow oil to soften and smooth and beeswax to moisturise, seal and protect.

Intense Hydration Serum 30ml/RM405, Intense firming Serum 30ml/RM405

Both serums are lightweight. Intense Hydration Serum boosts the level of Hyaluron that is naturally produced in the body while Intense Firming Serum contains MPC concentrate from milk that is packed with age-defying cytokines for skin firming.

Eye Lift 15ml/RM260

Designed to immediately lift, firm and smooth the delicate eye contour area while imparting radiance and long-lasting hydration.

Cuticle Cream & Kiss Mix 7ml/RM85

Kiss Mix is first aid for sore, chapped lips. The menthol felt very cooling and refreshing on my lips. It can be used under lipstick as a moisturising base or over lipstick to add shine.

Overall, this was an informative and engaging workshop with a fabulous presenter. I enjoyed this workshop thanks to the presence of nice and friendly bloggers especially the one sitting at my table (you know who you are :)!. After the workshop, Riese had one-to-one consultations with the workshop participants and all of us received some small samples and a RM50 voucher to redeem against Eve Lom products.
