BBQ Town Eat All You Can BBQ & Shabu Shabu @ Mid Valley Megamall

After a heavy lunch yesterday, I had another appointment at BBQ Town Eat All You Can BBQ & Shabu Shabu located on the 2nd floor of Mid Valley Megamall. They offer all day buffets, lunch is from 11am-5pm @ RM32.80++ for adults and dinner is from 5-11pm at RM39.80++ for adults.

The buffet selection is not huge and the first thing I noticed when I stepped into the restaurant was how oily the floor was. It felt quite icky to walk around. The waiter who speaks with a very foreign and often unintelligible accent (not just my opinion, the diners at the next table had to ask him to repeat a few times) asks if we want hot ocha or iced lemon tea. He’ll also ask if we want beef, lamb or chicken and we can choose all 3 if we want as it’s included in the price.

My ocha came and I couldn’t believe it was ocha as it is the most diluted ocha I have ever had in my life. It’d have been better to have just had hot water. This ocha was remarkable for the fact that it was so watered down that I couldn’t make out the tea.

There’s a selection of vegetables, sausage and squid at the buffet but none looked particularly palatable. The sauce bowls were almost empty and looked messy. The sushi selection consisted of a few pieces, clearly had not been replenished.

You can place the meats, sausage and squid on the grill and around the grill like a moat is the chicken stock (you can also choose to have a spicy stock) where you can place the tofu and vegetables. Interesting dining experience which I am in no hurry to repeat. I’d rather have gone to one of the numerous fast food joints in the mall.

The restaurant can get rather smoky but wat I didn’t like was the feel of the floor, too greasy because of all the cooking being done at each table.
