My 2nd Blancheur Spring Summer 2016 Show backstage interview was with Haritha Shan who actually didn’t have much of a moment to spare as you can imagine how hectic their schedule was getting all the models prepared for the show later that night. Although I stated earlier that I thought the makeup looked minimalistic, such makeup takes up a lot of time and effort to get it right.

Please describe the look for this show.

The look is influenced by Japanese characters. We looked at the design of the clothes, there was a lot of pink going on. I changed the colours a bit. I added orange, inspired by momo, a spring flower. It has the ombreness of pink. The models are given natural flushed eyes which complements Spring Summer 2016.

What products have been used to achieve the look?

Strobe cream on the forehead, high panels bridge of nose, Cupid’s bow. Fix + and Mineralize Charged Water on the face. No powder, we keep skin dewy. Eyes are matte. It’s all about texture and placement. It’s entirely up to a person where they want to balance matte and dewy.

How is MAC’s working relationship with the designer?

They love working with MAC. We were given a reference on the look they wanted. I added my opinion on campaign day (for the catalogue and website) and we roughly tweaked the look.

The focus is on the lips, what products were used?

Chromaline as base, waterproof, stains lips. We mixed lipsticks like Morange, Peachstock and Lady Danger.

Is this look easy for anyone to achieve?

Anyone can achieve this look in 15-20 minutes, it is suitable for day and night.
