Avène skincare isn’t something I looked at closely until I attended their beauty workshop a few months ago. Ever since then, I have been stopping by their display at drugstores. They have a number of moisturizers to suit every skin type and concern.

I’ve been trying out the Rich Compensating Cream & Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream in 5ml sample sizes (they lasted quite a few days despite the small tubes). Initially I thought the Rich Compensating Cream for dry to very dry skin would be very rich and concentrated. No, it isn’t but it is nourishing without being too thick and difficult to absorb. The Rich Compensating Cream contains ceramides, plant sterols and fatty acids and is very hydrating indeed. Love the texture as it lavishes my dry skin with moisture.

The Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream is for normal/combination skins. This moisturizer absorbs excess sebum so that skin looks more matte. It’s so lightweight but doesn’t compromise on the hydration factor.
