Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion

Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion is a compact with a sponge that holds the foundation, it comes with a special sponge for patting on the foundation. In case you are wondering, there is also a cooling effect with the Precious Mineral Any Cushion.

The plastic compact is very lightweight and in line with the Etude House image, very pink and cute looking. I may be too old to be carrying around such a kawaii looking compact but what’s age got to do with anything? After all, we’re never too old for Hello Kitty but that’s another story altogether.

Back to the  Precious Mineral Any Cushion, coverage is light to medium with a satin finish. My skin had a bit of a radiance/glow when I patted this on. It made my skin look natural as if I didn’t have a layer of foundation on.

This is a multi-purpose product in view that this foundation has sunscreen, sebum powder, moisture essence, cooling functions. It’s also sweat-proof and this feature was put to the test a few days ago when I dined in a restaurant with a power cut. I was sweating profusely and thought this was the perfect time to test whether the  Precious Mineral Any Cushion lived up to its sweat-proof claim. Sure enough, it didn’t run so I didn’t look a mess.

My skin appears brighter with this on because it contains pearl mineral powder and niacin amide that  has a whitening effect. The air puff which comes with the compact spreads the foundation evenly and easily. To apply, pat lightly instead of spreading out the foundation. I found it quite moisturising and non-cakey. I particularly like the cooling effect especially when my skin is feeling hot and bothered. This cooling aspect makes it very pleasant to use for touch-ups.

Advantages of the puff are:

1. Always keeping it clean due to low water absorption.
2. Minimizing contents wastage through wide spreading with a small amount creating a thin layer on the skin.
3. Skin-friendly through minimizing skin irritation.

Apply it from the larger area to smaller area (in order of  cheeks, forehead, and chin). For a sleeker and more moist result, it can be used after soaking the puff in water or spraying mist to the puff. The compact lid should be shut tightly to prevent it from getting dry.

The puff can be washed by first soaking in water, then cleansing with brush cleanser, foaming cleanser or neutral detergent without pressing or rubbing too hard. Press the puff to outward from the center with two thumbs. Repeat the step in running water. Do not rub or wring out the puff to prevent cracking and ripping off. Despite using the puff more than a few times now, the blue part of the sponge remains blue unstained by the foundation.

The compact will last at least a month with daily usage. Precious Mineral Any Cushion comes in 2 shades – Natural Beige W13 & Honey Beige W24. It is refillable but the refills are not available in Malaysia currently. It’s a pity that only 2 shades are available and as expected, cater to fairer skin tones.
