Extra Special Design Of MAC’s Extra Dimension Shadows

Although MAC’s Extra Dimension Collection has been available for more than a month, I’ve only just got round to using them, hence this tardy review. These eyeshadows are quite different from the MAC eyeshadows in their regular range as they have a special design on the surface and they have a different texture too.

It is much bigger than the eyeshadows in their regular range too, these being 3.2g and it already takes me forever to hit the pan with smaller sized eyeshadows. Each eyeshadow has “MAC” and a wavy design embossed on the surface. I started using the eyeshadow on the wavy design first and haven’t made much of an impression on the surface despite a few uses.

The eyeshadows can be used wet or dry but I have been using them dry as that’s enough colour pay-off and intensity for me. It’s a very dense shadow, there are no annoying powdery particles and they cling on to my finger or the brush equally well.

Havana is a warm brown while Warm Thunder is a cool silvery grey. Both can be used to create a smoky eye look if one uses a darker shade at the corners of the eyes to pair with either Havana or Warm Thunder. I think that it’s best to use them over primers for longer staying power otherwise you may find that they start fading after 4 hours’ wear depending on how oily your lids are.

Both the shadows have a metallic finish and are creamy, easy to apply and blend whether using fingers or a brush. Of the 2 shades, I prefer Warm Thunder but then again, I generally prefer cooler eyeshadow shades. Warm Thunder brightens up my lids while Havana is a bit more dull. Warm Thunder is a shade more suitable for an evening look while Havana is fine for day looks.

The Extra Dimension Shadows retail at RM80 each.
