Now Laura has introduced a variant to the Laura Mercier Silk Crème Photo Edition Foundation in the form of Laura Mercier Silk Crème Photo Edition Foundation – Moisturizing, also available in 12 shades which includes 5 new shades. The shades range from very fair to very dark (level 1 to 6 intensity).
While the Oil-Free version is more suitable for oily skins, the Moisturizing version is formulated for normal to dry skins and provides a natural luminous finish. The long-wearing feature in the Moisturizing version is retained and it also provides full coverage.
The Oil-Free foundation contains silk powder, tea extract (black) and Vitamins A & E for antioxidant protection while the Moisturizing Foundation contains silk protein fiber, tea extract (green, white, honeybush), Moisturizing Complex (shea butter, sodium hyaluronate, glycerin) for moisturizing benefits and Pearlescent Pigment which scatters light and luminizes skin.
If you are using this for the 1st time, you have to shake the tube really well otherwise only liquid will come out. It has a rather fluid consistency and my shade, Ivory is a warm tone in Level 1 intensity. It feels very light on my skin and I don’t even feel like I am wearing foundation. It does give a natural. luminous finish and is long-wearing even under humid conditions. Conceals the dark spots and other imperfections quite well. Some ppl said this is similar to nars latest foundation which does not work for me.
