Shampoo, Conditioner & Mask
Given our extreme humid climate, most of us have probably experienced bad hair days when our hair goes frizzy and remains that way no matter what we do or what products we use. Help is at hand with L’oreal Professionnel’s Liss Unlimited range which specifically targets frizzy hair problems.
Several factors contribute towards frizzy hair:-
- Hair is composed of lipids, water and a protein called keratin, all three ingredients that are important for hair strength and structure. A change in any of these ingredients can affect the quality of your hair.
- When exposed to humidity, hair soaks up the excess water in the air, especially when it is dry or porous. When this happens, it alters the interactions between the keratin proteins, causing hair to swell up, breaking in its outer layer, the hair cuticle. These proteins absorb water differently so they don’t swell the same way. Hair cuticles bend and twist in all different directions, resulting in frizzy hair.
- Washing too often and with the wrong kind of shampoo, leading to excessive dryness and the loss of natural hydrating oil on the hair shaft, overuse of heating products, chemicals as well as vigorous brushing that damages hair.
- Humidity can also make your hair weak. When hair soaks up moisture from the air, it becomes softer and more fragile, making it prone to damages.
Liss Unlimited is the 1st Climate-Proof Program, it is powered by a Keratinoil Complex Technology made from three ingredients:-
1. PRO-KERATIN – Substance Refiller
Pro-Keratin improves and maintains hair hydration, strengthens the structure of hair and makes it soft and shiny.
2. EVENING PRIMROSE OIL
Extracted from the Oenothera biennis’ beans from North America, this oil is full of Omega-6, that helps to penetrates deeply to facilitate hair smoothing. It also acts as a straightening facilitator. As a result, hair is stronger and smoother. Evening Primrose Oil acts as a smoothing facilitator.
3. KUKUI NUT OIL
A source found in Asia, Kukui Nut Oil is pressed from the seeds of the Aleurites moluccana tree. It contains not only Omega-6 but also Omega-3, to reinforce the hair, to facilitate the blow-drying and to protect them against humidity.

Cleansing

Enriched with Pro-Keratin, Kukui and Evening Primrose Oils, this shampoo feels rich and lathers up quickly but I didn’t feel that it cleansed my scalp thoroughly or rather not as thoroughly as other shampoos I have used from L’oreal Professionnel. I preferred the scent of Pureology Hydrate. Also, I had less of an itchy scalp when I used Pureology Hydrate Shampoo.
Treat

My hair was untangled very well, smoothed and softened with this conditioner.

I brought this mask to my hairdresser to have my hair steamed and the results were good (even my hairdresser said so) as my hair felt so much softer and yes, I did get up to 4 days of frizz-free hair after the treatment.

Aside from Pro-Keratin and Kukui and Evening Primrose Oils, this leave-in care contains Xylose, well known to protect hair fibre from heat while blow-drying or using a flat iron. Very creamy and quite thick but didn’t leave my hair feeling heavy. Quickly tamed any unruly frizz. My hair still felt soft after using the flat iron.
LISS UNLIMITED BLOW-DRY OIL,

This light serum oil controls hair for manageability while boosting shine. Use on both damp and dry hair before blow dry for a taming effect. My favourite product from the entire range even if it has short-term softening/hydrating properties for me. It is the lightest hair oil I have ever used, so much so it doesn’t feel like an oil. It’s very fluid and didn’t leave either my hair or hands feeling greasy. It’s so NOT oily that I can use it on my hair everyday.
Maintain
I don’t have this product to review but there’s the SOS Smooth Double Serum 30ml/RM67 which is described as the star product in this range. The formula, enriched with Pro-Keratin and Kukui and Evening Primrose Oils provides 4 days of perfect smoothing. The two different phases (one enriched with new smoothing silicon and one enriched with starch) melt at the last moment to protect their active ingredients and to maximize the results on the hair.

Sounds okay for dry hair. Mine is oily and always flat =(
i got a sample of shampoo 100ml when i bought the ifeel magazine from kinokuniya september issue. trying this now and does show results…..
