As cardiovascular diseases continue to be the leading cause of death in the country, ParkCity Medical Centre (PMC) is going all out to raise awareness among Malaysians on the importance of heart health. In conjunction with World Heart Day, the hospital has on display a massive 26-foot replica of the vital organ, which the public can walk through for a truly immersive experience.
The mega heart is part of PMC’s ongoing Healthy Heart Campaign this year which was rolled out in partnership with healthcare company Viatris. The campaign ends on September 30, 2021.
Ms Ch’ng Lin Ling, Chief Executive Officer of PMC, said, “Cardiovascular diseases do not discriminate against age or gender. With many being diagnosed at a younger age, our ‘A Hearty Deal’ campaign aims to encourage the public to keep an eye on their heart health and be aware of how behavioural, social, environmental and biological risk factors can contribute to the development of the diseases. We are also pleased to be collaborating with Viatris this year. The mega heart allows for a tactile experience to help people better understand how the organ works and to strive to stay healthy, especially during these challenging times.”
Located at the hospital lobby, visitors can take a guided walk through the replica of the vital organ to comprehend how the human heart keeps ticking. With a team of fully vaccinated doctors and staff, PMC continues to adhere to strict compliance with the Ministry of Health’s Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the safety of patients, public, doctors and staff at its premises.
The first 15 patients to register for PMC’s special heart healthcare package this month will receive a free stress test.
