Is there a skincare brand that doesn’t have whitening products nowadays? It’s a well known fact that whitening ranges sell in Asia as we’re all concerned with pigmentation and dark spots, almost to the point of obsession judging from the numerous ads in print media and on tv.
What works and what doesn’t? We are so spoilt for choice when it comes to whitening products. Of course every whitening range has serums and a few also have treatments that target dark spots specifically and not just for overall brightening.
Philosophy Brighten My Day is a range for diminishing dark spots, redness and pores. In this range are a brightening lotion, essence and peel pen. It has a 10.3.3 brightening and perfecting complex with:-
-
10 complementary actions on pigmentation : significantly reduce dark spots and brighten skin tone
- three combined effects on pores : visibly improve enlarged and darkened pores aspect; and
- three correlating actions on redness.
The essence has a milky texture and absorbs into skin very quickly but it does leave skin feeling slightly dry.
The peel pen is used on dark spots and two clicks on the pen is enough to apply on the dark spots on one cheek.
I used both products for over a month and there was an overall improvement in complexion radiance and refinement of skin texture. Dark spots were slightly less visible although they (of course) didn’t completely disappear. The products can be drying so I recommend using a hydrating serum to complement the products especially if you have dry skin like me.
The essence retails at RM215/30ml while the peel pen retails at 165/4.5ml.
The peel pen would be convenient for travel!
Oh the essence left your skin dry? Why?
Not sure why also but had this tight feeling on my cheeks after applying it.
Oh that’s really weird! I have never tried any essence that makes my skin feel dry.
Yeah it’s quite rare for a serum to make my skin feel dry.
I guess the whitening ingredients is really strong in this essence. I find the peel pen very interesting!
