The Inaugural Bintang Show To Showcase Malaysia’s And The Region’s Best Young Talents To Compete For RM100,000 In Cash And Prizes

The Bintang Show Judges

The Bintang Show, an inaugural, highly anticipated talent showcase dedicated to staging performers aged 7 to 14, is poised to redefine the landscape for young aspiring artists by empowering them to step into the spotlight, hone their innate gifts, and achieve their dreams.

Unlike many traditional youth talent shows, The Bintang Show provides a platform for young stars to flourish individually or perform with their older family members and friends. In addition to unearthing and promoting upcoming performers, the show is designed to foster creativity, self-confidence, and personal growth among participants.

The talent show is the brainchild of founder and Executive Chairman of Sim Leisure Group, Dato’ Sim Choo Kheng, a leading figure in the international attractions industry. Sim Leisure Group is rooted in the belief that creativity drives learning and growth, and continues to challenge industry norms with their innovative projects. Sim is renowned for creating the Group’s homegrown ESCAPE brand of theme parks, which reconnects visitors with their childhood and nature. The Group also acquired leading edutainment attraction, KidZania Kuala Lumpur back in 2020, alluding to the company’s ethos of championing hands-on experiences and role-playing environments to develop core life skills, play and curiosity among children.

The Bintang Show is proudly presented by sponsors ESCAPE Adventure Parks and KidZania Kuala Lumpur the leading attraction brands of the Sim Leisure Group and will be staged and filmed in the KidZania Kuala Lumpur Theatre.

With The Bintang Show, Sim Leisure Group expands on its philosophy that fun is serious business. By focusing on self-development and a unique competition format, the annual show offers an unparalleled platform for young people to showcase their skills and kick-start their journey towards stardom. This commitment to supporting the next generation of performers is reflected in the RM100,000 cash and prizes up for grabs — one of the largest prize pools available for young talent in the region.

Participants will also receive invaluable mentorship from The Bintang Show judges, comprising experienced entertainment industry professionals, who will impart their insights on breaking into the industry and help participants refine their crafts.

The panel of judges includes Azura Zainal, actress, model and former Disney Channel Asia Host of Disney Buzz and Studio; Andrew Netto, one of Malaysia’s hottest comedians who has had considerable success in the international comedy scene; DJ Wayne Phoo, an established emcee and radio announcer on MY FM, one of the leading Chinese-language radio stations in Malaysia, and Saule Salavatovna, Production Manager of KidZania Kuala Lumpur.

The Bintang Show will be screened online on The Bintang Show’s dedicated Facebook page. Hosted by television presenter Baki Zainal, the show will be split across three differing series, each with their own winners. Each series will document the rigorous auditioning process, challenging competition rounds, out-takes, and interviews with participants which showcases their unique backstories.

The Bintang Show welcomes performers from across genres and styles and forms – singers, dancers, actors, musicians, jugglers, or any other type of performance. Contestants have the option to audition either as a solo act, or in groups of up to five people, consisting of older family members or friends.

Those who think they have ‘what it takes’ to enter The Bintang Show can submit their audition forms and videos via WhatsApp at  013 409 5409 or alternatively they can fill in the audition form, which can be found at https://www.thebintangshow.com/audition, and upload a three-minute audition video explaining why they believe they should be a part of this show. The show offers participants the chance to display their talents in the most creative format possible!

The Bintang Show will be promoted via social media and online marketing, and across digital screens throughout Sim Leisure Group facilities, including KidZania Kuala Lumpur and ESCAPE Adventure Parks, with the first series of The Bintang Show set to air in July 2023 on the dedicated Facebook page and subsequently on the YouTube channel .
