The Square by Jaya One is thrilled to announce Malaysia’s 1st Happy Pets Carnival, co-hosted with Ollie & Hana Puppy Nursery throughout July 2024, marking a significant milestone in its 6-year journey as a dedicated pet-friendly space. This celebration serves as a heartfelt thank you to the community for their invaluable support and contributions to The Square’s ongoing pet-friendly initiatives. It also reaffirms The Square’s commitment to its core values of social responsibility, particularly through programs focused
on pet rehoming and education.
Starting from modest beginnings, The Square has grown into a symbol of compassion and care for pets, fostering a nurturing environment for both animals and pet lovers alike. Reflecting back 15 years ago, Jaya One has been a pioneer in promoting the core values of social responsibility through its collaboration with Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB), a dedicated animal welfare organisation.
Building on the lessons, feedback, and accomplishments of last year’s 5-year anniversary celebration, The Square has strengthened its dedication to pet welfare and community engagement. Through continuous adoption drives and educational initiatives, The Square has provided steadfast support to animal shelters, rescue groups, and nonprofits including Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better, Pads & Paws KL, Second Chance Animal Society, My Pets Haven, Woof Rescue MY, among others. These efforts have led to over 50 successful pet adoption campaigns, resulting in more than 80 pets finding loving homes in the past year
alone.
The month-long celebration is a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the pet-friendly community and the broader public for their unwavering support, understanding, and invaluable feedback that have been instrumental in shaping The Square into the welcoming space it is today. This transformative journey is marked by thoughtful programs and engaging offerings, including the addition of Malaysia’s first and most thoughtful pet lifestyle concept store, Ollie & Hana, at Jaya One in January 2024.
Beyond mere commercial objectives, The Square is guided by a steadfast commitment to champion animal welfare and promote responsible pet ownership. These principles are at the heart of The Square’s identity as a nurturing and inclusive environment for pets and their owners alike. Anchored by the 4 Key Pillars of Rehoming Programs, Education Programs, Pet-friendly Restaurants & Working Spaces, and Events & Bazaars, this ethos resonates throughout every initiative.
Initiatives such as the Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage (TNRM) program led by Pads & Paws KL, and the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts by MDDB and Second Chance Animal Society exemplify The Square’s dedication to championing animal protection. Complementing these efforts are pet first aid courses offered by PetMedic, puppy training sessions conducted by PuppySchool.my, and pet education workshops hosted by Ollie & Hana and its partners.
These activities, alongside pet holistic wellness initiatives like those at MeTime Book Cafe, showcase The Square’s commitment to fostering a sustainable and civic-minded environment. Moreover, The Square boasts a vibrant pet-friendly ecosystem. Most restaurants and bars within The Square warmly welcome pets, while the Retail Linkway below The Square offers a variety of dining options with dedicated pet-friendly zones. Aside from dining, The Square is also home to Malaysia’s very first pet-friendly coworking space, Common Ground, as well as Malaysia’s first pet-friendly Theatre Hall, providing inclusive spaces for both work and leisure activities with pets.

Malaysia’s 1st Happy Pets Carnival not only celebrates The Square’s journey but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to its supportive community, making this space ‘Truly Yours, Truly Pet-Friendly’. In conjunction with the carnival, The Square is delighted to partner with Ollie & Hana Puppy Nursery to enhance the carnival experience with engaging activities and informative sessions for pet owners and enthusiasts alike. Throughout the month of July, attendees can look forward to a series of programs and activities curated in collaboration with MeTime Book Cafe, Three Stooges Bistro, Second Chance Animal Society, D’Gym, Himalaya Pet Wellness, Dogology, Max & Paw, Shibui, MrOrganic, Bazaar & Bustle, and Skygazer, including a Pet Fashion Competition, Pet Communication Session, Treats Workshop, Pet Health Check, Adoption Event, Pet Movie Day, Pet Bazaars and more, scheduled from 6-28 July 2024. The Square is also proud to collaborate with Ollie & Hana, NOKO, Xiao Ming Kopitiam, and Germisep to enhance the event with exclusive goodie bags for participants.
This July, pet owners are invited to enjoy exclusive perks with The Square’s pet-friendly dining promotion. Throughout the month, pet owners can delight in 10-15% off their total bill when dining with their pets at select restaurants. Participating outlets include Sangkaya at Level P2 Retail Linkway; Nan Yang Chicken Rice at Level P1 Retail Linkway; Tommy Thongchai, Three Stooges, Rockafellers, La Chica, and IPPUDO at Level G of The Square; and MeTime Book Cafe at Level 1 of The Square. Additionally, owners can claim a complimentary 2-day Day Pass at Common Ground Jaya One, Malaysia’s premier pet-friendly coworking space, simply by bringing their pets along.
Continuing its dedication to fostering a pet-friendly environment true to its ethos, ‘Truly Yours, Truly Pet-Friendly’, The Square has partnered with Ollie & Hana to launch the first-ever ‘My Pets, My Neighborhood’ campaign, starting 1 August 2024. This initiative aims to benefit pet owners working and residing near Jaya One. Visitors with pets can enjoy exclusive benefits: spend RM50 at selected pet-friendly restaurants to receive a free RM55 pet daycare session at Ollie & Hana, or spend RM100 for a complimentary overnight stay valued at RM70.
Additionally, residents and employees in the vicinity of Jaya One can access special membership rates for pet daycare at Ollie & Hana for RM30 only. This offer applies to individuals working out at Celebrity Fitness, employed in Jaya One, working at Common Ground, or living nearby, among others. In appreciation, Ollie & Hana members will receive meal discounts or complimentary snacks at participating pet-friendly outlets by presenting their membership card.
