The 4th Malaysia International Durian & Cultural Fest 2024 (MIDCF), hosted by DKING in partnership with DURIAN CAPITAL , set to be the largest durian buffet festival was officiated by Datuk Manoharan Periasamy – Director General of Tourism Malaysia at Piazza, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Malaysia Supermodel Amber Chia as MIDCF Event Brand Ambassador.

The 4th Malaysia International Durian & Cultural Fest 2024, starts from September 11th to 16th, 2024, where this event not only celebrates the Malaysian Durian as the King of Fruits but also aims to educate attendees about its significance and the durian cultivation process.

In addition to offering an extensive durian buffet, the festival will focus on agro-tourism by highlighting the agricultural practices behind this iconic fruit. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about durian cultivation, enjoy local Malaysian dishes, and experience traditional Kampung life through farm homestays.

“Our goal is to promote the durian and Malaysian culture on a global scale, with hopes that this festival will become an annual celebration recognized internationally as “DurianFest” or “Hari Durian.” Through this immersive experience, we aim to broaden understanding and appreciation of durians and enhance Malaysia’s reputation as a leading agro-tourism destination.” shared Mr Leron Yee, Founder of DKing & MIDCF. Furthermore Mr Leron said “We started on 11th September welcoming over 700 guests from China in buses to enjoy Malaysian Durian and more to come during the durian fest expecting a total of 3000 locals & 900 international guests with an additional 1000 more at the Durian Fun Run this Sunday.”

Datuk Manoharan Periasamy started his speech by wishing everyone a Happy Malaysia Day and Tourism Malaysia will support this fantastic event promoting the Malaysia Durian and its culture showcasing our famous Musang King Durian. He hopes that together we can elevate durian into a global celebration “DurianFest or Durian Day” to attract more tourists & durian enthusiasts from around the world to visit Malaysia. Last year Malaysia exported RM2billion worth of fruits with durians making up 56% of the total. Malaysia harvested 455,458 tonnes of durians and we expect an 11% increase to 505,853 tonnes by 2025. We gear up for Visit Malaysia 2026 in the spirit of Malaysia Madani and together we work to enhance the value of our tourism offerings.
