i-SiNG is one of the biggest singing competitions that offers the best platform for all aspiring singers to showcase their talent.
“i” refers to one’s self which also stands for the word “international” and attached to the word “SiNG” – bringing one’s self to the international stage to share one’s singing talent, with the emphasis of “i” to in-built the importance of being confident.
With over 10 years of event industry in Asia, i-SiNG World was formed by a team of music and event organizing enthusiasts in 2017.
Positioning and Goals of the Event
I-SiNG World positioned itself as an international talent search intended to provide an annual entertainment in the form of singing and at the same time, recognizes talents globally. In 2019, i-SiNG World formed a Junior Category for a group of young talents aged from 6 to 16-year-old. Again, they aim to grow their passion and self-confidence in singing from a young age via building a network of sharing amongst singers at different age from all over the world.
Organized annually, i-SiNG World moves the world finals to different cities year after year. Not only promoting different culture of the hosting city, they bring in singers with different races and different cultures into the city as well as their vocal talent and prowess, influencing participants and audience of their understanding of music in different parts of the world. This world stage also provides singers and the public with a unique, high quality, and unforgettable experience.
i-SiNG History
MyISing Malaysia is the exclusive organizer for i-SiNG in Malaysia. The inaugural i-SiNG World championship started in Yangon, Myanmar in 2017. About 24 countries participated in that World Finals. The following year, in 2018, the World Finals moved to Paris, France with 40 participating countries. The 3rd year was held in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2019, with 47 countries. Malaysia will be the 4th venue for i-SiNG World Finals.
Team Malaysia Successes
In Myanmar, Malaysia was represented by Nabillah Mohammad. She achieved 7th placing in the competition. Malaysia did better in 2018 with Shafeek Ikhwan. Shafeek won the Grand Champion – Solo title in Paris. In Sweden, Malaysia took the 2nd and 3rd placings with Husaini Mahmur and Nadia Naswan Hasnan respectively. We hope Malaysia will again win the Grand Champion for 2023.
In March 2020, a press conference was held to announce i-SiNG World Finals to be held in Kuala Lumpur. However, soon after that, Malaysia came under lockdown with Covid 19 pandemic. The event was then postponed until the world was ready to gather again.
Hence, this year it was decided that the i-SiNG World Finals should be continued and again Kuala Lumpur was given the honour to organize it. The organizing committee set and decided to hold the World Finals on November 22nd to 26th, 2023 at Royale Chulan Damansara.
About 25 countries are expected to attend the i-SiNG World Finals with more than 200 delegates participating and supporting the event. This will be an exciting Finals as many countries are eager and looking forward to travelling and performing. Aside from competing, the contestants will get to experience Malaysian hospitality with Malaysian cuisine and free sight seeing within the Klang Valley. It will also be a great boost to Malaysian tourism.
