The B40 community and marginalized groups in the Klang Valley can look forward to receiving free “Follow Me” products from home-grown personal care manufacturer, Tohtonku, as the company commemorates its 60th anniversary in July.

The contribution totalling RM1 million and consisting of products essential for good personal care and hygiene, is being distributed as Tohtonku seeks to give back to the local community for the support that the company has received since its founding in 1964.

“According to the WHO, diseases disproportionately affect the poor and socially disadvantaged members of society, due to their inability to access hygiene solutions. Additionally, the rise in Covid cases earlier in May underscores the need for us to continue to stay vigilant,” said Jasper Lim, Executive Director at Tohtonku.

“As such Tohtonku hopes to give back to the community by raising awareness on the importance of good hygiene and distributing products that can be used by our communities to maintain a high level of hygiene.” he added.

The company will distribute ‘Follow Me’ products consisting of toothbrushes, hand sanitisers, moisturisers, cleansers, body wash and shampoo, to about 13,000 individuals from marginalised communities around the Klang Valley. This initiative aims to benefit the B40 community including indigenous peoples, the differently-abled and orphans.

These products will be distributed to selected PPRs and non-governmental organisations such as Doctors without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and the SOLs foundation. Earlier in June, the company had distributed the first batch of the products to PPR Taman Wahyu 2, PPR Seri Semarak, and the SOLs Foundation, which benefited 6,300 individuals.
