Makeup Simulator, Which Look Is The Best Of Them All?

Yesterday afternoon, I was invited by Shiseido to try out their makeup simulator which has been brought all the way from Japan for this week only at KLCC’s Centre Concourse. This is the first time that the simulator has been brought to Malaysia. According to Shiseido’s Chief Makeup Artist Ms. Purple Yap, Shiseido was the first makeup brand to have this simulator but I’m not sure if any other brand has a similar simulator now.

Have you ever wanted to try out different looks without having to have the makeup applied directly on your face? Well, from now till 12th December you can by visiting Shiseido’s promotion area at KLCC’s Centre Concourse. The simulator will take a snapshot of your face without makeup (if you have makeup on, one of Shiseido’s consultants will help you remove the makeup) and then you can choose what look you want, e.g. a natural or glamorous look or even both.

The consultant will ask you your makeup preferences, e.g. whether you prefer cream or powder eyeshadows, what colours you like or have always wanted to try but never dared to, what lipstick textures you prefer. Once you choose a particular eyeshadow, the consultant will choose a cheek and lip colour to match the eyeshadow.

For example, I chose blue cream eyeshadow here:-

It’s so easy to change the colour just by touching the different colours on the screen. This way, you can be as adventurous and as bold as you want. If you think the eyeshadow shade doesn’t suit you, then just ask for a different colour to be “applied” on your eyes, the combinations are endless.

Once you have settled on a certain look, the consultant will note down your preferences and you can decide whether to purchase the eyeshadow/cheek/lip colours. The makeup simulator is a nifty machine and it’d nice to have it as a permanent fixture at Shiseido counters here.

Here’s my natural (left) and glamorous look (right) with the GR305 eyeshadow palette:-

What a cool machine – if I had a similar one at home, I would probably spend too much time trying out different combinations.
