Kiehl’s is well known for many products and their Midnight Recovery Concentrate needs no introduction among beauty product enthusiasts. Now Kiehl’s has introduced the Midnight Recovery Eye. Both these products are for giving skin a more youthful and less tired appearance.
Why Midnight Recovery? According to Kiehl’s, the formulation of the products boosts the repair and regeneration of skin when it is naturally programmed to best absorb active ingredients, typically between midnight to 4 a.m.
There are many positive reviews on Midnight Recovery Concentrate and it’s a Kiehl’s product I’ve always wanted to try, given the literally glowing reviews. This product was specifically formulated to biologically regulate skin’s natural lipids for optimal skin repair during the night. It’s 99% naturally-derived and paraben-free.
A blend of active essential and botanical oils form the key ingredients. Essential Oils are a highly concentrated and volatile substance extracted from plants while Botanical Oils are oils obtained from plants that are fatty, dense and non-volatile.
What makes this such a luxurious product is the number of oils contained. There are essential oils of lavender, rosemary, geranium and rose as well as botanical oils of squalane, evening primrose, coriander and rose hip. I like the stylish look of the dark or should I say midnight blue glass bottle with the glass dropper. Just press the plastic cap to dispense one, two or three drops. There is no leaking from the cap even if I’ve accidentally placed the bottle in a slanted position.
With so many oils blended into the product, one can only expect it to smell divine and yes, the scent doesn’t disappoint. It’s one of the best scents in any concentrae, in my opinion. It’s a very memorable scent as it’s comforting, relaxing and soothing to the senses. It’s enriched with a blend of Omega 3, 6 & 9.
The first few times I used the Concentrate left me a bit wary though because there was a spot on my chin shortly after usage. I stopped using it for a while and have since resumed though I don’t use it every night. I can’t say that I’ve seen any radiance or glow to my skin when I wake up but it maintains my skin’s hydration level. My skin still feels soft and plump in the mornings as when I applied the product the night before. As it’s so rich, I don’t use another serum/moisturizer when I am using the Concentrate. I’ll rub it between my palms and cup to my nose to inhale for a few seconds before massaging it into my face.
Midnight Recovery Concentrate is RM220/30ml.
Midnight Recovery Eye was formulated to help achieve fresher, younger looking eyes by morning by diminishing puffiness and fine lines and wrinkles. This paraben-free, fragrance-free and mineral oil-free product contains Butcher’s Broom as its active ingredient. Butcher’s Broom is a root extract, known to increase microcirculation and reduce inflammation.
Other active essential and botanical oils in the Midnight Recovery Eye formula are Squalane, Evening Primrose and Lavender. Together, they help strengthen the thin skin under the eyes. The fatty acids of Omega 3, 6 & 9 help to reinforce the protective barrier and slow down the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Because Midnight Recovery Eye is quite creamy, I only need a very minute amount for application to both eye areas. It has the best scent of any eye cream I’ve ever, bar none. The scent is so swesome that I sniff it for a few seconds before applying it.
My under-eye area feels totally hydrated and while fine lines still remain, it does a good job of decreasing eye bags and the appearance of dark circles. My eyes do look more well rested in the mornings even if I’ve only gone to bed past midnight.
Midnight Recovery Eye is RM150/15ml.
