L’oreal Revitalift White Day Cream SPF18

It sounded very promising, a moisturiser for whitening and anti-ageing at the same time. No more having to use one moisturiser for reducing dark spot and another for lines and wrinkles. It sounds like every woman’s dream moisturiser, doesn’t it?

L’oreal’s latest Revitalift skincare product claims to make skin look younger, feel firmer, visibly reduce wrinkles, lift and define face contours plus reduce spots colour, size and number while brightening skin complexion and making it look more luminous in just four weeks.

I put it to the test over a period of four weeks without using a firming/whitening serum because then I wouldn’t know how the Revitalift White fared on its own. Normally, if I am testing a moisturiser that promises to have firming/whitening effects, I won’t use a serum because that wouldn’t reflect correctly on the efficacy of the moisturiser.

The Revitalift White has a thick consistency which may be a problem for those with oilier skins. I know that people with oily skins tend to prefer more lightweight moisturisers, less creamy and more towards gel textures.

Since I’ve dry skin, I had no issues with the cream but I would have liked the SPF to be higher, maybe 25 rather than just 18 which really didn’t do much good to me. The cream absorbs quickly without any sticky feeling. I used the cream over a period of four weeks, anything shorter than that and it wouldn’t be a fair review.

As you can see from the “before” and “after” pics, there really isn’t much difference in the appearance of dark spots nor is there much in increase of luminosity. I couldn’t “spot” the difference, it looks more or less the same to me.

Ditto with skin firmness/elasticity/suppleness, I didn’t feel that there was any difference in the appearance of my face contours. Perhaps I’d have got better or the desired results had I used a serum.

The Revitalift White retails at RM39.90.

  1. I’ve just buying this product last night and had been used it twice. Could I used this for night cream too? Does it turn up any effect?

    • I wouldn’t recommend it for night time use as it contains sunscreen. Sunscreen should always be removed before you go to sleep as it can cause pores to clog up.
