The defining features of the Marilyn Monroe look are the arched brows, winged black eyeliner, red lips and Marilyn’s signature beauty mark. Marilyn was a pale-skin beauty who kept her cheeks looking pink and flushed.

These are the eyeshadows & lipsticks from MAC’s Marilyn Collection:-

L to R – Showgirl, How To Marry, Silver Screen, Preferred Blonde

How To Marry Eyeshadow

The eyeshadows (RM94) are 3g each and bigger than those in the permanent range. All of them are Veluxe Pearl so they are easy to swatch andare variations of frosty white/blue grey/silver. How To Marry is the highlight shade as it’s a soft white.

L to R – Charmed I’m Sure, Love Goddess, Deeply Adored, Scarlet Ibis, Pure Zen

The lipstick casings are still bullet-shaped but the surface is very smooth and they have images of Marilyn on them. Shades range from nude, orange red, pink red, true red to deep scarlet. Of the 5 lipsticks (RM75), 3 are matte while the other 2 are cremesheen and satin. The cremesheen texture is very soft and prone to breakage so I’d store it in a very cool place and it is advisable to use a lip brush to apply cremesheens.

Charmed I’m Sure Lipstick

I’m not fond of red lipsticks as I tend to stay away from strong and vivid lip colours but I have to admit Charmed I’m Sure is quite a nice one, intense and bright as it is. There are hints of berry in it and it’s a wearable red for me. Texturewise, expect this one to be on the drier side as it is a matte so either apply lip balm before this or a lip gloss over it. The advantage of using matte lipsticks is that it does have much better/longer staying power over other textures.
