Estee Lauder’s Cyber White Brilliant Cells Event is now on at MidValley’s South Court from 24-30 March. You can have your skin analysed as well as have a quick makeover. The CyberWhite range includes not only skincare but also makeup such as the CyberWhite Brilliant Perfection Extra Brightening Loose Powder SPF15/PA++ which is rosy pink with some shimmer to give radiance to complexions.
In conjunction with this event, there are makeup demos by their makeup artists, Adrian Sin & Joyce Lee. There were two demos yesterday afternoon but if you missed that, it’s also at 1pm & 6pm this weekend and you can pick up quite a number of tips even if you’re no beauty novice.
The makeup steps are very simple and can be adopted by any beginners to makeup as the entire process only takes a few minutes. It’s easy and effective, whether you choose to go for a toned down, soft look or a more glammed up, smoky look.
After prepping skin with toner, serum and moisturiser, apply CyberWhite Brilliant Perfection Advanced Brightening GelCreme Makeup SPF21/PA++ with a kabuki brush so that it goes on sheer and evenly. This foundation contains Kudzu Root which minimises the look of dark spots, discolorations and redness.
A very good tip with regard to foundation is to add some serum to your foundation on a 1 : 2 ratio, one part serum and 2 parts foundation. Estee Lauder recommends using either Advanced Night Repair or the CyberWhite Brilliant Cells Full Spectrum Brightening Essence. This gives skin a glowing, radiant look.
Do note however that a medium coverage foundation is best suited for this purpose. Why serum though and not moisturiser? Well, Adrian explained that serum is best because the molecules are smaller and thus, able to absorb into skin more effectively. I’m definitely trying this out with my ANR.
Next, apply CyberWhite Brilliant Perfection Extra Brightening Loose Powder SPF21/PA++ with a kabuki brush as well in circular motions to set the foundation and so that foundation will stay on longer.
A pinkish blusher was used on the model (Silky Powder Blush in Tender Petal) for that sweet, fresh look. Sweep the blusher upwards to get a lifting effect. After all, we all want to enhance the youthful look and applying blusher properly can help make skin look more lifted.
The eye makeup involved just 3 eyeshadows, liner and mascara. For the demo, Adrian used Pure Color eyeshadow in Lavender Star (metallic) all over the lid (as a base) followed by Amethyst Spark (shimmer) on the outer edges of the eyelids.
Apply a black eyeliner as close to the eyelids as possible and to soften the harsh lines, apply an eyeshadow like Lavish Mink (matte) over the eyeliner using a slanted shadow brush. Finish off the eye look with Turbolash, the world’s first vibrating mascara which curls, lengthens and volumises even without the aid of an eyelash curler.
Where lips are concerned, Estee Lauder recommends applying lip gloss first in a colour lighter than whatever lipstick you’re using. This is Estee Lauder’s signature “Fuller Lip” look which has a 3D effect. Lipstick is only applied to the edges of the lips (just the 4 corners).
