Not another eyeshadow palette with brown shades, that was my first thought when I laid eyes on this palette. “Vivid” is subjective and I didn’t think any of the eyeshadows from Lunasol’s Spring 2013 Collection were particularly vivid but generally, Japanese made eyeshadows aren’t as bright or vivid as other brands.
Anyway, I believe this palette will sell well here because brown shaded palettes do. They’re highly functional and wearable, takes you from day to night. Just intensify the colour and you get a smokey eye look if you have a function/dinner to attend after work.
I can hardly see the 2 highlight colours on the extreme left but they are there. The darkest brown shade can be used as eyeliner using the fine tip sponge applicator provided in the palette. Brown eyeliner makes for a less harsh look than black but I prefer to add black eyeliner over the brown.
The eyeshadows are not lacking in pigment but I wouldn’t say they are highly pigmented. They are easy to pick up whether I use my fingers, brush or sponge applicators and are not at all powdery. Very good quality but then again I would expect nothing less from Lunasol. Actually, I am beginning to like this palette thanks to the gold/bronze hues.
