Why is it called Steam Cream? I’m sure you’ve seen other versions of Steam Cream out there. Some people rave about the efficacies of Steam Cream. It employs steam technology, i.e. large amounts of high-pressure steam. ORIKS Prestige Onsen Steam Cream is produced by emulsifying water and oil under high temperature and then rapidly cooled. The steam is converted into large amounts of water molecules which are much smaller and therefore easier to absorb into skin.

I was given a few samples of ORIKS Prestige Onsen Steam Cream, each sample good for one use. Actually, I like samples like that because I don’t have to leave the unused sachet lying around. This is an anti-aging moisturiser which can even be used on the eye area.

The texture is relatively thick but not as thick as the Estee Lauder Nutritious Night Vita-Mineral Intense Nourishing Creme/Mask. On a scale of 1 to 5 of thickness in consistency (5 being the thickest), I would rank the Prestige Onsen Steam Cream as a 4 while the Estee Lauder Nutritious Night Vita-Mineral Intense Nourishing Creme/Mask would be a 5.

It’s easier to get Prestige Onsen Steam Cream absorbed when my face is moist. It has a floral scent which could be because of one of the key ingredients being myrtle extract. Myrtle is an evergreen shrub with a star-shaped five-petalled flower. Myrtle oil has been used for centuries for respiratory and skincare benefits (apparently it’s good for oily skin and acne). I do find it rather rich and moisturising and I don’t mind the scent at all.
