This pencil version of Bobbi Brown’s famous and popular Long-Wear Gel Liner held a lot of promise. I prefer using pencil eye liners to gel liners where I have to use a liner brush. Pencil liners are less time-consuming and hassle-free especially to liner amateurs like me. Liners are my least favourite make-up and I have yet to master the art of the perfect line.
Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil in Jet is jet black, pigmented and glides smoothly across my lids but I couldn’t get a fine line. The line seemed rather thick and harsh. The colour is quite unforgiving – if you happen to make a mistake, it takes some time to clean it up.
Now what did it promise? It claims to be long-wearing which means no smudging or migration anywhere as well as no fading. I can vouch for the fact that it stays true to its colour all day but it wasn’t long before I started to look like a raccoon. It may stay on other’s lids but on me, it was smudge, smudge and more smudge. It’s also quite difficult to take off even when I am using an eye make-up remover.
This Long-Wear Eye Pencil is one of the products in Bobbi’s Pretty Powerful Coffee to Cocktails Collection.
Oh no another product that won’t stay o my oily lids as well…
Since it smudges so much, it can be used to create smokey eyes! 😀
