I love December, all the festive decorations in hotels and shopping malls makes me feel happier than usual even though there is little to feel cheerful about, no thanks to all the price increases. However, giving away things to make someone to make their day better feels good and with this 2nd December Giveaway (5 lip products from Shu Uemura & MAC), I hope it gives one of you reason for cheer too.
Like all of you who read beauty blogs, I have been reading reviews on beauty products for years and I do a little research before I commit to purchasing new beauty products. I don’t believe everything I read and largely depend on my instinct before buying anything, especially if it’s pricey. After all, no one wants to regret their purchase.
There used to be only 2 options when it came to looking for beauty products – the drugstores and department store’s cosmetic counters. This was way back in the 1980s and early 1990s but how far we’ve come now. We have so many stand-alone shops and kiosks where we can find anything and everything we want.
So now you can hazard a guess as to what my questions for this Giveaway are:-
1. What interests you with regard to beauty reviews? Is it makeup or skincare and are you more interested in existing or upcoming products which aren’t on the shelves yet or maybe it’s both?
2. Where do you regularly scour for beauty products? Is it the drugstores like Guardian/Watsons/Caring etc or beauty halls or stand-alone stores like THEFACESHOP & other K-brand shops, MAC, Inglot etc?
Terms & conditions of this Giveaway:-
1. Giveaway exclusively for those who have ‘liked’ Juniper’s Journal’s Facebook page.
2. Giveaway ends at 11.59pm Sunday 8th December 2013.
3. Winner will be contacted via email once results are announced in this same post. Please respond within twenty four (24) hours otherwise another winner will be selected.

Hi, first of all thanks for having this giveaway in this joyful month! December is my favorite month also (Yeah Xmas is coming!)
1. What interests you with regard to beauty reviews? Is it makeup or skincare and are you more interested in existing or upcoming products which aren’t on the shelves yet or maybe it’s both?
>>Personally, I’m into both skin care and make up products. Basically I will browse the stores and if there is anything catches my attention, I will go home and search reviews on these products before I make the final purchase. And glad to tell you, most of the products (either skin care or make up) that I have interests in can be found in Juniper Journal! This is the main reason that I have been loyally reading your blog. And actually I’m more interested in products that are already on shelves. Because I can always go and have a look, get a touch and test the products after reading beauty reviews. This will be the final step before I make purchase. Upcoming products will excite me, and if price lists are provided for upcoming products, then I can start saving money if I’m interested in these products haha!
2. Where do you regularly scour for beauty products? Is it the drugstores like Guardian/Watsons/Caring etc or beauty halls or stand-alone stores like THEFACESHOP & other K-brand shops, MAC, Inglot etc?
>> Personally I usually get beauty products from beauty halls/stand-alone stores. Because I prefer the quality of their products. Another add points of these stores is that promoters/sale girls will always be there to give me more knowledge of the products. However, if I already know that the beauty products are good, works on me and suits my skin (for example, Maybelline mascara), then I will buy them from Watson or Guardian because I don’t need further information of the products. So basically what the stand-alone stores attract me is their services.
Again, thanks for the giveaway! 😀
Thank you so much for the giveaway!! 🙂
1. What interests you with regard to beauty reviews? Is it makeup or skincare and are you more interested in existing or upcoming products which aren’t on the shelves yet or maybe it’s both?
Answer: For this question, I’m into both skincare and makeup products but recently more on makeup products. I’m not so excited on products that are not on shelves yet because that means I cant go to the counter and see it for myself. It also means I need to wait for months before it is actually displayed. I prefer those existing ones as there are more reviews on it and this will help me to decide whether to purchase it or not.
2. Where do you regularly scour for beauty products? Is it the drugstores like Guardian/Watsons/Caring etc or beauty halls or stand-alone stores like THEFACESHOP & other K-brand shops, MAC, Inglot etc?
Answers: More from beauty halls/ stand-alone stores. The sales assistant will be there to assist me in shade selections for foundations etc as I’m still not very good at those. I prefer Inglot/ Laura Mercier as their sales assistant are better off than Mac ones.
Beauty reviews in blogs which interest me most is makeup! The latest makeup trends, the hottest eye and lip shade, the latest makeup gadget in the market, the latest collection and information and launch dates on the upcoming makeup products which are not on the shelves really keeps me excited!
I usually go Watson and Sephora on weekly basis to ensure I get a glimpse of the latest makeup in the market! Watson Is my fav place for Korean makeup and Japanese lashes! The variety is increasing every year! Sephora is definitely another favorite place of mine, to be able to feel, touch and swatch the products that you see through oversea blogs is really exiting!
Hi,Thanks for this giveaway!!:)
1. What interests you with regard to beauty reviews? Is it makeup or skincare and are you more interested in existing or upcoming products which aren’t on the shelves yet or maybe it’s both?
I am more interested in skincare products!Since my skin is more to sensitive type, not all skincare products can suit me. Therefore, I prefer to browse through review regarding the product before I purchase it. Plus, instead of advertisement by the skincare company itself, somehow I find that review by blogger(including Junipersjournal!) is more convincing for me.I like both existing and upcoming products!
2. Where do you regularly scour for beauty products? Is it the drugstores like Guardian/Watsons/Caring etc or beauty halls or stand-alone stores like THEFACESHOP & other K-brand shops, MAC, Inglot etc?
It depends.I usually buy from drugstores but certain products I will buy from stand-alone stores~
1. I’m interested in beauty reviews on blogs which I get to know others’ opinions on the products before I spend money buying things which don’t suit me. I prefer to read on skincare products which are or going to be on shelf by which I think skincare is much more crucial than make up. I believe that if you have been taking good care of your skin, you don’t even have to make up!
2. Well, there is no fix place for me to purchase neither skincare nor make up products. I go for certain products which suit me, it could be in any place!Let’s say I prefer the facial wash from Simple Skincare, I’ll go to Watson or Guardian, go to The Face Shop for face masks, eyes shadows from Sasa and so on~Again, go for what suits you better~ ^_^
hi, thank you again for all the awesome giveaway at your blog =] i think all readers/fans will be very happy for this Christmas season including me ^_^
1. I always get attract to the beauty reviews about make up items and existing, up coming products ^_^ from blog reviews i got to know the payoff and quality of the items that i am interested in and when the sales come, I will grab them the soonest because from blog reviews i can already decide which one to be put in my wishlist ^^
2. I like to buy my make up products from drugstore. the price are more affordable and some of the brand actually have quite good quality~ whereby for skincare products, i got them from department store and some time also from stand-alone stores.
thank you so much ^_^
1. i usually read reviews online for upcoming products for the latest western , k brands and other Asian brands. The ingredients, technology and even latest colour trends usually changes fast so i am always interested with those. of course i do not want to be ‘out’ of trend since the world is global with having things such as blogs and even online shops.i love checking skincare for the ingredients and tecnology that might just work for a flawless skin. as for makeup i am more into trends.
2.i prefer drugstores but will buy from other places if i find it good for my skin. most of the time i order things online too since it is difficult to get skincare at place i am living. i think it is hard to find all the best products from head to toes in just one particular skincare counters or drugstores so my buys varies. that makes shopping fun too since we get from one shops to anothers in search of the product for us=). unlike men, women don’t use the same colour of lipstick for 20 years.
Thanks Juniper!! I’m so happy! Santa Claus comes early this year! 😀
by the way do I have to send u an email?
No you don’t. Have your address in my records.
Ok noted! Thank you so much!
