When I first started blogging, I made a mental note to feature some beauty brands sooner or later. One of those brands is Jurlique and it was later rather than sooner for it to be featured here but you know what they say, better late than never. Why Jurlique? I’d heard and read great reviews about it. Everyone I knew who had used their products had absolutely no complaints about it and I really, really wanted to find out more about the products and what better way to be introduced properly than through a facial there?
So thanks to Jurlique, I recently had a complimentary Jurlique Purely White Skin Brightening Facial Treatment which is designed to improve radiance and skin tone, fading skin discolourations and dark spots without harsh chemicals.
Before being ushered to my treatment room, I deposited my bag in a locker. Very practical to have lockers but not that the rooms are small either. I was surprised to find that there are 7 treatment rooms at Jurlique MidValley because the outlet doesn’t look very big from outside. However looks can be deceiving and the rooms are well appointed with pillows for my legs so that lying on the bed for 1 hour 45 minutes was more comfortable. There was no piped-in music at the time I was there and I prefer the silence really.
So my facial began with a thorough cleansing, a cleansing milk or as it’s known in Jurlique, a cleansing lotion was used. The next part was nice because a few drops of Lemon-Lime Hydrating Essence were added to a towel immersed in very warm water. There are 4 Jurlique Hydrating Essence which act as double cleansing agents. I thought the Lavender Hydrating Essence had a marvellous scent (it’s for all skin types) but the Lemon-Lime Hydrating Essence also had the most beautiful scent and this one is for brightening. The therapist pressed the towel down on my skin 3 times, each time with pressure point massage. Ooooh, such a wonderful feeling!
Next, it was exfoliation with a salon product – Resurfacing Enzyme Peel Gel which has fruit enzymes. The therapist informed me that I might feel tingling particularly on dry parts of my face but I felt nothing at all and this felt mild as there are no harsh granules. It was left on my face for about 5 minutes while the steam machine was on and then the therapist massaged it off.
After the Resurfacing Enzyme Peel Gel had been removed, my blackheads were extracted and this was not at all painful or uncomfortable. This was followed by a brief pressure point massage with Purely White Skin Brightening Essence. Then the therapist applied the 1st mask which is an oxygen and hydration mask for 5-8 minutes during which time she massaged my back and shoulders with Lemon Body Oil.
I love a facial massage with products that smell good and with firm massage strokes. I got both from the therapist as she used the Purely White Day & Night Cream combined with Jurlique’s salon only Vital Oil and she used her palms in rotating motions to administer the massage.
The 2nd mask is a collagen brightening and hydrating mask. The gel mask is applied with a brush on my bare skin first, then the yellow collagen sheet is placed over my face and a second layer of gel mask is spread over the collagen sheet. Don’t I look jaundiced? The mask is left on for 15 minutes. The therapist massaged my feet for a few minutes and then I was left alone to relax.
The facial left me with much brighter skin not only for the day but for days afterwards. It’s a facial I enjoyed very much and would recommend to those who are looking for a facial to brighten their skin. The current promotion price of this facial is RM266.
wow, look really bright! Hahha, you look like a mummy with the collagen mask
Yes, the Mummy Rises!
The collagen mask is a bit scary~ I feel suffocated when looking at you picture haha~~
And you look great in the last photo! The brightening effect is very obvious.
It’s a good mask but if you are claustrophobic, then you may not like the mask because it covers the eyes for 15 minutes.
Oh No I will be struggling under the mask! :/
