Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Giveaway Winners & Reviews

Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense has always felt more like a very hydrating moisturizer than a sunscreen to me. It doesn’t have the typical sunscreen texture and despite the price, I’ve found that a tube goes a long way. It takes me months to finish a tube. We’ve done things a bit differently for the Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense Giveaway. After the Giveaway ended and at Kiehl’s request, the 2 winners were chosen and sent a tube of the sunscreen so that they could use it as soon as they received it and send me their reviews on the product.

These are their reviews.

This is my first try on Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50PA+++ UVA and I was surprised with its light texture! Looking at the high SPF level, I thought that Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50PA+++ UVA will come in an oily and greasy texture but out of my expectation, the sunscreen is very watery and light.

As can be seen from the photo, the sunscreen is very watery with low viscosity.

In addition, the product can be absorbed by the skin very easily.

The product was fully absorbed by the skin in a few seconds without leaving the uncomfortable sticky feel. Another plus point is that it does not leave behind the ugly white patches on my skin after application. Also, my skin felt very fresh, as if I didn’t apply anything on my face. Usually my face feels burdened after using high SPF products, which I really don’t like.

The sunscreen is so light that I don’t feel burdened at all to wear it for long hours. I was walking under the sun for the whole day and I sweated a lot. However, my face remained fresh and I don’t feel greasy and sticky. What I really like about this product is that it provides extra hydration and moisturization to my skin, which can rarely be found in other high SPF sunscreen products. This is a great sunscreen product that I will definitely recommend to my friends and family. It’s really hard to find high SPF sunscreen products that are suitable to oily and acne-prone skin since most of them will come in greasy texture, which tends to worsen the acne problem. However, the price is a bit steep at RM 140 for 30mL.

I had a great experience in trying the product and thanks to Juniper’s Journal and Kiehl’s Malaysia for the product. ^^

Kiehl’s Ultra Light Daily UV Defence SPF 50 pa +++ 30ml comes in a squeeze tube and is a non-greasy sunscreen with a superb-light fluid texture that will not clog pores. Contains photostable sun filters Mexoryl SX & Mexoryl XL. Formulated with antioxidant Vitamin E & nourishing Glycerin. It offers powerful, long-lasting sunscreen protection. It is dermatologist-tested, non-comedogenic and fragrance-free. The product was made in France.

The first time I used it, I found that the texture was like your typical face lotion when it came out from the tube. It was very easy to spread therefore a little goes a long way. No fragrance was noted.  Make sure to spread it out evenly, if not you will end up looking a bit pale from the white cast. My face looked fairly shiny during the first 5 minutes of application, however after 15 minutes, the product seems to have absorbed into the skin. There was no more shininess and my skin feels very moisturized.

I noticed that my face did not feel heavy after application and this is a plus point for me as I would prefer to put foundation on top of my moisturizer (if I am feeling hardworking).  My t-zone started to shine after 3 hours (which is normal even using other sunscreen/lotions) and I needed to blot my face thrice throughout the day. However my face did not feel too greasy or uncomfortable for the whole day.

What I like most about this product is that it moisturizes the skin and feels very lightweight which is ideal for those who loves/prefer to apply sunscreen/lotion under makeup. This is definitely a multitasking product where it moisturizes and protects the skin from harmful rays of the sun at the same time. I can see myself including this as part of my daily foundation routine before heading out for the day.

Pros: Lightweight, spreads easily, absorbs fast

Cons: White cast if not spread evenly
