My Performing Arts Agency (MyPAA), in collaboration with the George Town Festival (GTF), launched Borak Arts Series 2015, Malaysia’ primary regional networking platform for creative practitioners and business leaders from around the world. The press conference also announced the 18 recipients of the Royal Arts Gala Fund, grants for the arts raised during The Royal Arts Gala 2014 presented by the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN).
The third regional Borak Art Series – an Arts Conference for Creative Practitioners and Business Leaders, will be taking place this 29-30 August 2015, from 9.00am to 5.30pm daily at the internationally acclaimed George Town Festival, Penang. Annually held in Kuala Lumpur, this year’s Borak Arts Series finds a new home in George Town Festival.
Present at the press conference as panelists were YBhg. Datuk Norliza Rofli Director General of National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), YBhg. Dato’ Mohamed Juhari Shaarani, Director General of Istana Budaya, Joe Sidek, Festival Director of George Town Festival and Izan Satrina Mohd. Sallehuddin, Founder and Director of MyPAA.
Building from 2013 and 2014’s Borak Arts Series of Building Sustainability in the Arts and Building Knowledge Capacity in Funding and Mobility, and in celebration of Malaysia’s chairmanship of ASEAN this year, MyPAA takes the discussions forward to break boundaries and strengthen relationships across ASEAN communities via this year’s theme of ASEAN and The Future.
