Whenever I am at a restaurant I’ve not been to before, I observe the wait staff. It’s so easy to see whether they love what they are doing or not. I persuaded a group of ladies to have lunch at The Gravy Factory Nu Sentral Mall simply because I was curious as to what the lamb stew with rice would taste like.
There are quite a lot of options in the menu ranging from Pumpkin Stew for vegetarians, Hainanese Chicken Chop, Ginger Beef with Pandan Rice to several types of spaghetti including Lamb Stew Spaghetti. I ordered the Lamb Stew with Rice @ RM15.90. At that kind of price, I wouldn’t have expected a dish that looked like a boarding school meal. The rice was surrounded by lots of gravy with a few tiny chunks of carrots and even less lamb. I think there were less than 10 minuscule pieces of lamb, so teeny-weeny that even a kid would have complained it wasn’t enough.
That wasn’t even the clanger, The waitress wasn’t the smiling type but what really riled me up was when I asked for more water and she just grabbed the jug of water and unceremoniously plonked it in front of me. Great service! Won’t be returning for obvious reasons.
So sad that bad service is so common nowadays!
