When I began my Japanese language studies at Iloha in Bangsar, I started hanging out at Lucky Garden and had lunch there a few times a week. Most of the shops there remained the same over the past few years but lately there have been some changes. Namaste Spa is one of the new additions to Lucky Garden’s commercial area, it’s located just opposite Big Pharmacy. Namaste Spa opened two months ago and I had the opportunity to try their foot massage thanks to their complimentary voucher handed out a few weeks ago. I could choose between a foot or body massage.

Although I also needed a body massage, I chose a foot massage as I didn’t want the hassle of taking off my clothes and besides, it has been years since I have had a foot massage. I think I needed a foot massage more urgently than a body massage as my feet  (in particular my heels) have been aching for some time.

At registration, I completed a form that asked me my massage strength preference, that’s considerate since some people like it gentle and some people (like me) prefer it strong. At the same time as my registration, two other ladies stepped in with the complimentary voucher and they had chosen the body massage. The body massage section is upstairs while the foot massage section is on ground level.

Firstly a foot soak and scrub which I was so looking forward to as I haven’t had a foot soak/scrub since my last pedicure ages ago. So long ago that I cannot even remember when. The water pressure was rather weak, a sign of the imminent water cut perhaps?

The foot soak/scrub was followed by a brief shoulder and neck massage, Now that felt good as my shoulders are so in need of some TLC! Could have done with more but this is a foot massage session so on with the foot massage in one of the wide and spacious chairs which one can have a snooze in as it is so comfortable.

The chairs are divided by curtains but since I was alone (it was the first morning session after all), the curtains around me didn’t need to be drawn. I like the fact that there are curtains as it can sometimes be a little awkward to be in such close proximity to another customer.

Faye was my therapist for the hour session and she is soft spoken and has the nicest professional attitude. Her kneading and massaging of the various pressure points were so good. I had my last foot massage years ago in Bangkok and although I wanted one for a long time, I never felt comfortable in any of the reflexology centres in my area (one of the reasons is the centres there are run by Mandarin speakers and I am not that comfortable conversing in Mandarin). At least everyone speaks English in Namaste Spa.

Reflexology is great for promoting blood circulation in the legs and everyone can certainly benefit from regular reflexology. Namaste Spa has 60/90/120 minutes reflexology sessions and prices are RM78/108/132 respectively. I believe my complimentary session was the Total Foot Care session which includes head and neck massage and that’s RM88/119/149 for a 60/90/120 minute session.

Before I left, I signed up for their Buy 1 Free 1 Power Back Massage which is RM88 for a 1 hour session (they also have 90 and 120 minutes) which has to be used up by 1st May. I think it’s a good deal and I can definitely do with a back massage. I like the ambiance and service in Namaste and I didn’t feel pressurised into buying a package or more sessions. I just felt like this Buy 1 Free 1 promo was too good to pass up.

Namaste Spa is located at 29, Persiaran Ara Kiri, Lucky Garden, Bangsar, 59100 KL.
