Progressive Release Moisturiser : Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

It’s a well known fact that those with oily skins prefer gel moisturisers over cream moisturisers as gels are more suitable for oily skins. Creams are too rich and can cause pimples to form on oily skins. Personally, I also prefer gel moisturisers as they are not as heavy and the right gel moisturiser can be just as moisturising as creams. The last gel moisturiser I used was Biotherm’s Aquasource.

Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost™ Water Gel comes in a 50g jar and some may find having to dip fingers into the jar rather unhygienic. I use this moisturiser mostly at night as it can act as a sleeping mask but unlike Laneige’s famous Water Sleeping Pack_EX, the Water Gel absorbs rapidly into skin.

The Water Gel contains purified Hyaluronic Acid and olive extract which release moisture continuously. I like the texture of the Water Gel as it can feel quite cooling especially if it’s been left beneath the air-con. It’s soothing for days when skin is feeling hot and sensitive.

I’m not a huge fan of the scent as I think it’s a bit too strong. Other than that, I have no issues with the Water Gel as I wake up to well moisturised and soft skin in the mornings. It’s also reasonably priced at RM59.90 (it’s quite often on discount). Right now, it’s only RM35.80 at Watson’s till 9th October, 2011.
