When Ordering Online Has Its Disadvantages But Luckily It Was Cheap

dsc_9487During Chinese New Year, I ordered a Hello Kitty watch on Shopee as I liked the design and rose strap. The price was also attractive at just RM16.80. Unfortunately, the order was ultimately auto cancelled by Shopee’s system as the seller failed to ship out in time. That’s one of the reasons why I like ordering on Shopee, they take shipping out dates very seriously.

After it was cancelled, the seller contacted me and asked me to order again. He or she said that the factory was closed when I ordered which is why they couldn’t ship out in time. I ordered a second time on 3/3, it helped that the seller was very nice and prompt in replying. Even sent me a RM3 discount voucher because I’d lost my own RM3 discount voucher when the order was auto cancelled.

dsc_9492The watch arrived this afternoon and as expected, the design is very nice. The seller gave a free gift in the form of a pen. However to my disappointment, as soon as I tried on the watch, the strap frayed, the quality of the strap is very poor. I contacted the seller about this issue and was offered a RM2 rebate which I accepted. At least the seller was gracious enough to say sorry and offer the rebate which is better than nothing.

Changing the strap will cost me more than RM2 and I think it will be more expensive than the watch. This is one of the downsides to online shopping but I still think the risk is worth it as the price is low and you get designs which you don’t see in any stores. I just hope I can find another rose strap somewhere.
