It’s been over 2 weeks since I had the Samsung Galaxy S22+ for the purposes of review. I’ve never reviewed a phone before but there’s always a first time for everything. My device is in the lovely Pink Gold, there are 3 other colours including Green, Phantom White and Phantom Black. I eschew conventional shades, always love to choose something different than white or black whenever possible.

My first impression of this phone when I took it out of the box was how wide the screen is. I have the Samsung A32 which I bought end of last year. Of course the Samsung Galaxy S22+ is several notches above mine in terms of looks and performance in every way. You get what you pay for.

Compare this to the Galaxy S22:

Yup, sure feels like one solid and hefty phone with a wide screen that makes watching videos and scrolling through the Internet comfortable for eyes. It did take some getting used to because this is the biggest phone I have used. I like how flat the surface is, back and front. It has the feel of a premium phone. It’s hard to explain exactly what that means but as I have all along used phones below RM1500, I know this one feels extremely different.

Watching videos on this screen is much less stressful on eyes. Other than the size of the screen, the brightness level is much better than any of the phones I have ever had. The clarity is superb and unrivalled. Also, the sound is crystal clear especially when watching music videos.

The battery is big on the Galaxy S22+ and so charging is ultra fast. Have to really keep watch on the progress as it can be fully charged even though you don’t want it to be. I thought my A32 charged fast but this S22+ is even faster.

As expected, the camera on this phone is beyond excellent. In the 2nd selfie above, I used the Portrait mode which I guess makes it clearer than the 1st selfie. Takes superb close-ups of objects too.

There’s a lot more to explore on this phone and I wish I could take a trip somewhere (anywhere) just to take photos of scenery, flora and fauna.

The only feature this beautiful phone doesn’t have is an earphone jack, I wanted to try out the radio. My A32 has an earphone jack but the S22+ is far more sophisticated so you can only pair it with a bluetooth device.

Pages load seriously fast on this phone, just a slight touch of the finger does it but I have to be careful not to accidentally touch it as it’s quite sensitive and whatever I am watching can close.

Now that I have had it for close to 3 weeks, I really do feel like going out and getting one for myself!
