After Georgetown Literary Festival (GTLF), the Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL) is inviting KAWAGUCHI Toshikazu to Kuala Lumpur for a special talk session titled “PUBLIC TALK: LIFE of KAWAGUCHI TOSHIKAZU”.
KAWAGUCHI Toshikazu is one of the most prominent writers of Japan. Born in 1971, he is a novelist, screenwriter, and theatre director. His debut work “Before the coffee gets cold” was nominated for the Bookstore Awards 2017 and was made into a movie in 2018. The series has sold 1.4 million copies in Japan, over 500,000 copies in Italy, and over 250,000 copies in Taiwan, and is on the best-selling list in the United Kingdom and the United States.
During the session, he will be sharing about his journey in becoming a novelist, the thought process that goes into his works, and also how he came up with the “special rules” in his novels. He will also be answering various questions from the audience during “Ask Kawaguchi Anything!”
