Allow me to first admit that I am a complete and utter snob when it comes to fragrances as I am extremely selective and never paid the least attention to drugstore brand fragrances. In fact, I have only ever purchased fragrances from these few brands – Nina Ricci, Dior, Estee Lauder and Clinique.
Why not drugstore fragrances? I am not partial to their scents at all, ever but that perception changed the second I took a whiff of Majolica Majorca’s Majoromantica Secret Joker. This one comes in a slim semi-opaque gradational purple glass bottle with the Majolica Majorca emblem embossed in front and has a gold plastic cap connected to a gold plastic wand applicator.
It’s kind of old-fashioned and retro to have a wand applicator instead of a spray but somehow I like it this way as I can apply it directly to the insides of my wrists and collarbones. The small 20ml bottle makes for easy portability as I can tuck it away in my bag for re-application any time, anywhere.
The scent is not the typical drugstore fragrance kind, this one actually smells like it’s from one of the counter brands. In other words, it smells expensive. These are the different notes in Secret Joker:-
-
top note of Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin, Pear, Apple, Peach with a hint of cumin.
-
middle note of rose, jasmine, gardenia.
-
bottom note of vanilla, sandalwood, amber and musk.
So what we have here is a combination of floral, fruity and spicy notes which is a delightful concoction that is sexy and sophisticated. I have been using this fragrance on a daily basis for the past month, I have become hooked on it. There’s less than half left and I’ve got to get a replacement once it becomes available later this month. Staying power is average (2-3 hours) so re-application is necessary if you wish to freshen up. It’s this fragrance that has made me reconsider drugstore branded fragrances.
Fragrance is Limited Edition and will retail at RM59.90.

I was surprised by how nice this fragrance is. Definitely smells like a counter brand. Also like the quirky name!
I just got myself one of this yesterday. Gotta admit, the scent is addictive. <3 might consider getting a second bottle as a stock up at home.
