I’ll be the first to admit that I love my deep-fried, cholesterol-laden and downright unhealthy snacks which I do consume in much moderation, like once in a very blue moon. That way, I don’t feel so guilty but as I get older, I realize I really should cut down entirely on the fried bananas and other yummy fried foods of my youth.
So when I was contacted by Executive Pastry Chef, Paul Gardin from Normandy, France whom I’d met at his previous workplace in Hilton Hotel, I was more than intrigued. You see, Chef Paul has just started Sweet French Life Bakery, an online bakery which specializes in healthy snacking and gourmet products such as granolas, nuts, spreads, salted caramel, energy bars. With snacks so high in fibre and nutrients, I can snack on the delicious nuts, granolas and energy bars any time of day. Right now, I am quite addicted to Chef Paul’s Almonds and Cashews Teriyaki Style as well as his Spicy Curry Pistachios, so clever to combine Eastern flavours into the snacks. I am stopping every few seconds to dip my fingers into the jars.
If you’d like to affix your own label on the jars of products, Chef Paul can also do that. I think that’s a great idea for events that promote healthy living. These little jars of nuts make the most fantastic door gifts and tokens of appreciation.
I was reminded of Curtis Stone in Take Home Chef when Chef Paul informed me of his “Bring A French Chef Home” concept. If you’re throwing a party at home and would like a French chef to prepare some wonderfully delicious cuisine, look no further than Chef Paul as I am sure he’ll prepare a meal to remember, leaving your guests talking about your party for a long time.
Sweet French Life also provides training, team building as well as cooking classes. Now my jar of Almonds and Cashews Teriyaki Style is totally empty.
