All I Need Is A Pina Colada With My Cha Cha Tint

The colour of Benefit’s Cha Cha Tint brings to mind hot, balmy nights on a tropical island. This latest lip/cheek tint from Benefit joins its sisters, the classic Benetint and Posietint. Cha Cha Tint can be a little shocking at first sight, it looks intensely orange but it’s actually a peach-corally mango shade.

When it first became available here, I was thinking of getting it at some point as it looked like the most appealing of the tints – I’m not fond of reds/pinks for my cheeks. Since Cha Cha Tint is neither red/pink based, I was definitely going to check it out sooner or later.

The brush applicator looks similar to a nail polish brush and I was quite tempted to use it on my nails. Of course, it doesn’t smell anything like nail polish. The instructions state that 3 strokes should be applied on the cheeks and then blended quickly.

Yes indeed, the tint should be blended pronto quick otherwise it will set on the cheeks and no matter how you try to blend, it won’t budge. The first time I used it, I reached for my camera to capture the 3 strokes and by the time I had taken the shot, part of the tint had already settled on my skin.

So as soon as the tint has been applied, I waste no time in blending. It’s very light and easy to blend. It is rather sheer and it gives my cheeks a nice flush without any shimmer. It’s so natural looking and perfect for day. The colour is buildable should you feel that one layer is too sheer.

If you’d like more highlight, Cha Cha Tint can be mixed with Benefit’s High Beam or Moon Beam for radiant cheeks. If you just want a slight glow to the cheeks, use less of High Beam/Moon Beam and more of Cha Cha Tint.

Although Cha Cha Tint can be used on the lips just like the other two tints, I find it too drying on my lips which is a pity because I do like the colour both as a cheek and lip stain. Staying power is much better on the cheeks than lips.

The only thing I don’t like about the tint is that it really stains my fingers, it’s near indelible because it can’t be removed with soap nor cleansing foam. I have to use cleansing oil which is a stronger cleansing agent than foam. Other than that, it’s the nicest shade of cheek tint I’ve seen so far but then again, I am partial to peach based cheek shades.

Cha Cha Tint is 12.5ml/RM143. Now I’m really craving for a Pina Colada so I’m going to google for recipes.
