The year commenced on a high note for Ara Damansara Medical Centre (ADMC), part of the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH) group, as it commemorated 10 years of caring for the community with quality healthcare.

Doctors, nurses, employees, former patients and business partners gathered to celebrate the hospital’s ‘10 Amazing Years’ and to share in the joy of the milestones and successes achieved.

With a lively flash mob performance by dancers dressed up as doctors and nurses, a cake-cutting ceremony made complete with the appearance of hospital mascot Ardee and a ceremonial tossing of Lou Sang to usher in the new year. The event which took place at the hospital lobby, had a merry, carnival-like ambience. Members of the public were also treated to a free flow of cotton candy and popcorn throughout the day.

RSDH Group Chief Executive Officer Peter Hong, who was present at the event, said, “We are tremendously proud of ADMC’s accomplishments. The hospital has come a long way since its inception in 2012.  The medical successes, unswerving dedication to patient care and going beyond the call of duty have resulted in creating a trusted healthcare facility that the surrounding community has come to rely on. Kudos to ADMC and here’s to many more years of amazing achievements.”

Echoing his words, Miranda Harumal, Chief Executive Officer of ADMC, commented, “We could not be more thrilled to celebrate this milestone. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, our committed team continued to deliver exemplary service and it is this group of people who are at the heart of everything we have achieved. We also feel immense gratitude for the support we have received from the community we have been serving over the years.”

To further mark the occasion, an awards ceremony was held to recognise the contributions of ADMC’s long-serving doctors and staff, as well as the outstanding performance of employees. There was a total of 28 Long Service Award recipients and two Service Excellence award recipients.

The day’s celebrations continued with a fun mini art session for children, while booths were stationed at the lobby to provide information on self-breast examination and free ankle brachial index screening to the public. In the week after the Open Day as part of its corporate social responsibility, ADMC also held daily free eye screening sessions and a blood donation drive in collaboration with the National Blood Centre.

In keeping with current safety requirements, the hospital ensured that public safety was upheld with full compliance to standard operating procedures including physical distancing and the use of face masks at all times.

The 220-bed hospital opened its doors to the public on 20 January 2012.
