Creamy Massage & Moisture Intense Masque

A DIY facial requires two essential skincare products – a facial massage cream & a mask. I’m not one of those people who like DIY massages, it just doesn’t feel as comfortable or the same as lying back and having someone massage your face for 10 or more minutes. The number of occasions when I have indulged in DIY massages, I’ve only massaged my face for a few short minutes. I doubt that got my blood circulation going or was of any benefit to my skin.

When it comes to DIY facials, I much prefer just slapping on a mask, so much less tedious than having to massage my own face. I’ve tried the gamut of clay masks, hydration masks, firming masks, etc. There have been too many to remember but for me, what makes a good mask is that there should be a difference to my skin before and after the mask, whether it be to make my skin firmer, more hydrated, softer or smoother.

Artistry has two skincare products for DIY facials, i.e. the Creamy Massage launched in 2004 and the Moisture Intense Masque (not sure whether that was also launched in 2004). Both products are made in U.S.A.

(1) Creamy Massage (120g/RM134)

This Creamy Massage has quite a thin, liquid texture and just a bit is needed in order to cover the entire face. It contains Jojoba & Avocado Oils and is recommended to be used for 10 minutes. However, I don’t have that much patience and probably only use it for half the recommended time.

The instructions on the outside of the box are in Korean and the English and Malay translations are on the inside of the box. I found the scent of this massage cream to be quite strong and overwhelming. On days when I had a slight headache and used this massage cream, it didn’t relax me. On the contrary, it increased my headache.

Massaging the face is good for promoting better blood circulation and I all for getting that natural glow and radiance. I always massage my face in upward motions, hoping to make my skin firmer.

(2) Moisture Intense Masque (100ml/RM76)

After washing off the Creamy Massage, I apply this mask which is thicker than the massage cream. Again, the instructions of this mask are printed on the inside of the box although there are no Korean characters outside.

Similar to the Creamy Massage, the scent of this mask is strong and I would have preferred it to be slightly less so, much as I can tolerate scents in masks. I usually leave it on for 10-15 minutes, sometimes with a DIY sheet mask over it for more intense hydration.

It’s above average for a hydration mask, it does leave my skin feeling soft and sufficiently hydrated. At least the price is reasonable for the amount that is in the tube.

Note : The CreamyMassage & Moisture Intense Masque were provided during the launch of the Artistry Time Defiance Skin Refinishing Lotion.
