There’s nothing quite like the end of the year holiday festive season to spread a little cheer around and Avenue K has done that this afternoon. Visitors to the mall from now to 27th December 2019 will have many insta-worthy moments at Avenue K’s ground floor atrium as it shimmers and shines to the theme of ‘A Shimmery Christmastide’.
Set amidst the spectacular backdrop of a charming golden gazebo, two angelic statues welcome shoppers to the perfect spot for countless photo opportunities amongst giant Christmas trees wrapped in twinkling lights. Above, red and gold chandeliers suspended from the ceiling illuminate the atrium’s ‘sky’, creating a dazzling display of spellbinding lights.
Begin your holiday experience with a visit to the mall’s Christmas marketplace, featuring a grand ornate roof enhanced by the brilliance of a hanging chandelier, sparkling lights and blossoming floral decorations. Look out for Santa and Santarina as they walk around the mall to spread their festive cheer.
Tons of fun await the kids when they attend the mall’s exciting Christmas art and craft workshops to learn how to make acorn necklaces and wooden houses. There are lots of goodies to be given away including personal caricatures and Christmas dough figurines.

As Christmas is the season of giving, Avenue K invited the orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary KL for a celebration. o make Christmas the most magical time of the year for the orphans they were invited to shop at Max Fashion. Avenue K unveiled a Christmas Wishing Tree where the children were given the opportunity to hang their Christmas wishes on the tree for shoppers at large to fulfil their Christmas wishes. Shoppers may drop their gifts at the Information Counter and the mall will deliver the gifts to the children before Christmas day.
I had a look at the Christmas Wishing Tree after the kids had hung up their wishes and most of the wishes are for shoes. As simple as that! Shoes are one of the most basic needs. While some of us buy the same shoes in different colours, let’s spare a thought for the underprivileged kids who really need shoes and hopefully their wishes will all come true this festive season.
