Benefit product launches are fun, unique and different as there’s usually a theme and the launch of their new Fake Up Concealer was right up my alley as they had a mystery detective theme called “The Great Hydrating Concealer Coverup : The Curious Case of Hydrating Crease Control”. The detective in charge of the case was Professor Pink (on left in image above) who had to discover what happened to our missing goody bags! They went “missing” at the start of the presentation.

Professor Pink began by examining the evidence just like any good detective would. It didn’t take her long to discover the secrets behind Benefit’s Fake Up Concealer – a concealer with hydrating crease-control properties that instantly hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines for silky smooth coverage. Hydration has been proven to last up to 6 hours.

To introduce us to Fake Up, Professor Pink explained how to use Fake Up via a short demo. Just like baking a cake, you need the right ingredients. So there are 2 ingredients which need to be mixed together with Fake Up (to take out a bit of Fake Up from the tube, use the stick part of a cotton bud). Mix some Ooh La Lift together with It’s Potent Eye Cream and Fake Up on the back of your hand. Then use the cotton bud to pick up the mixture and dot 3 spots under your eyes. Blend until moist and smooth.

The Fake Up Concealers come in such pretty tubes. There are 3 shades available – 01 light, 02 medium and 03 dark. You swivel up the stick as you would a lipstick. The outer core is white and that’s the hydrating ring with Vitamin E and apple seed extract for immediate moisturization. The inner core is known as the concealing core and that’s the part that hides dark circles and has light-diffusing properties. You know how some concealers can be a bit drying on the skin? Well, I tried the Fake Up Concealer during the launch and it’s creamy and does feel moisturizing on my skin.

After Fake Up + the 2 other ingredients have been blended, you may add some Benefit High Beam to Ooh La Lift and the eye cream from temples to high cheekbones for a more highlighting effect. High Beam is a liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a dewy, radiant glow.

You might be wondering what the differences are between Fake Up Concealer and Benefit’s 2 existing concealers. Well, wonder no more because Benefit has the answer right here in this concealer comparison chart:-

The Benefit team looked like they’d fit right into a Sherlock Holmes movie with their tweed capes (pity we couldn’t take one of those home!):-

Now for the most important question – did Professor Pink manage to solve the case and retrieve our goody bags? It’s elementary – with her intelligence and crime-solving skills, all of us received our Fake Up Concealers intact. Another Professor Pink case closed with a happy ending.
