It was an afternoon brimming with positivity as Bio-Oil hosted a beauty and confidence workshop. Women of all ages and backgrounds gathered at Roost Café, Bangsar to discuss, learn and share about what it means to ‘Be Skin Confident’.

There was a presentation by Product Manager, Stephanie Ng, introducing Bio-Oil’s multi-purpose properties, and why the product has won 224 awards globally since its launch in 2002. This was followed by a sharing session amongst the attendees. Many of the attendees were Bio-Oil users, having tried and tested it with rave reviews of their own.

Stephanie’s crowd-participative presentation shared that on average, a person will have three scars on their bodies. Hence, this is a common occurrence. It is estimated that, of all new scars formed, most can be attributed to everyday cuts, grazes and minor burns (up to 34%). Studies have also shown that 65% of women are conscious of their scars, compared to 35% of men.

Stretch marks are another common body issue faced by most women. In a confidence survey of 7,000 women, stretch marks rank as number 8 in the top 10 body concerns. In another survey of 3,000 people, 75-90% of women are prone to stretch marks. Stretch marks can be unsightly, and may cause us to feel conscious in front of our partners and society in general. Because of this, confidence can plummet, and this is where Bio-Oil can help alleviate your concerns.

Also speaking about its unique formulation, Stephanie shared that Bio-Oil contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin OilTM which ensures that the active ingredients are rapidly absorbed into the skin, without leaving an oily residue. The formulation also includes vitamins A & E, and natural plant oils – Lavender, Calendula, Rosemary and Chamomile.

The afternoon was rounded up with a special session by R. Yogash, a renowned stylist, makeup artist and talent coach for the Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation, who was there to offer some tips and advice on being confident. Speaking about achieving both beauty and confidence, Yogash shared that confidence comes from many aspects of our lives: by putting in a little effort to dress up and by taking care of our skin, we are able to achieve outer confidence; and by being comfortable with ourselves, we are able to cultivate inner confidence. From our posture, skincare, fashion sense and even the power of a handshake, Yogash kept the guests entranced throughout his talk.
