A few weeks ago, MAC Cosmetics sponsored makeup for the Blancheur Spring Summer 2016 Show during Malaysia Fashion Week. I was invited to go backstage to have a look at the makeup process and it was a hive of activity as models sat in a row waiting for their turn. The makeup seemed quite minimalistic with emphasis on lips. MAC Senior Event Artist Reyo Lim talks about the makeup & how we can highlight our features.

Please describe the look for Blancheur Spring Summer 2016 Show.

Dewy skin, focus on lips with neon yellow tone based orange. We use Strobe Cream, Prep + Prime Highlighters, Cream Color Base for the dewy effect. Studio Waterweight Foundation for the base with no powders. Eyes are a light pale pink. Cream Colour Base is mixed with Prep + Prime Highlighters.

How many models is MAC doing make up for?

How do we highlight skin?

Apply eye shadows before Prep + Prime Highlighter. Use 3 Prep + Prime Highlighters – Radiant Rose, Bright Forecast and Light Boost. For normal skin, use Bright Forecast under the eyes. Use Radiant Rose & Bright Forecast on eyelids. Blend with 224 brush. This gives a natural and radiant look which doesn’t look cakey. Apply Strobe Cream on cheekbones for a glowing effect. Also apply on Cupid’s bow, chin, cheekbones and T-zone. We don’t contour any more, we create a 3D look with highlighting. Men can use Bright Forecast. If you don’t have serious dark circles, use Prep + Prime Highlighter.
