boscia Pore Purifying Black Strips

It has been years since I used Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. Before I went for regular facials (which have now become irregular), I used to purchase boxes of those Biore products to rid my nose of blackheads but they weren’t as effective as extraction.

boscia has peel-off pore strips with charcoal powder to absorb excess oil and impurities, refine skin and reduce pore buildup. They come in a pack of 6 and are formulated to:-

  • Instantly and effectively draw out dirt and sebum that forms blackheads.
  • Detoxify pores by neutralizing impurities leaving skin clean and healthy.
  • Eliminate blemish-causing bacteria from pores.
  • Instantly refine pores and make them less visible when excess oil is absorbed.
  • Nourish skin with soothing and protective botanicals.
  • Deliver a soothing, cooling sensation upon contact for a refreshing pore-refining experience.

The instructions state that the strip has to be applied on a thoroughly wet nose. That’s very important because a damp nose just won’t do. I apply it after I have stepped out of my shower and turn on the tap to dab more water on my nose before applying the strip. There’s always a bit of a crease at one of the sides although it does adhere quite well on my nose.

It takes longer than 15 minutes for the strip to harden. I usually have it on for at least 20 minutes. A little bit of tugging on the skin as the strip is expected as any other brand’s pore strips would be the same. I don’t find it particularly painful.

I do notice (what I presume to be) dead skin cells stuck to the strip but I cannot say for certain that it’s successfully managed to extract some of my blackheads as there still seem to be the same number of blackheads on my nose, more or less anyway for who can actually count their blackheads?

As I haven’t used the Biore strips in so many years, I really can’t confirm how these strips are comparable to the former. They could be the same – in any case, my opinion remains the same as what I stated above, extraction is the best and most effective method of extracting blackheads.

The Pore Purifying Black Strips are available exclusively at Sephora and retail at RM54.
