Once you pass a certain age, you realize you need to replenish the collagen in your body. Signs of lack of collagen are obvious – skin becomes more slack, lines appear out of nowhere, frown lines come and never go, crow’s feet around the eyes and many other little signs that your skin is no longer young.

I am not in the category of people who take regular health or beauty supplements simply because I don’t have that kind of discipline to take something at a stated time unless it’s medication in which case it’s necessary rather than for aesthetic purposes.

CENTA Beauté Marine Collagen Jelly contains 5000mg of collagen in one sachet;  specifically designed for delay aging, lighten pigmentation and renew the skin. Each box contains 15 sachets. Now I have never tried collagen in the form of jelly before, only drinks but I believe there’s always a 1st time for most things. The jelly has a lychee taste so it is slightly sour and sweet.

Given a choice between a collagen jelly and drink, I would choose the former as I can consume the jelly within a few seconds and can bring it anywhere to consume since I don’t need cutlery or a cup. Just open the sachet and down the hatch it goes.

The texture of this jelly is firm and it won’t break easily. I could easily have another sachet but the recommended dosage is 1 sachet a day ideally after breakfast or before bedtime. If I remember to take it after breakfast, then it’s at that time otherwise it’s before I go to bed.

After 2 weeks, my skin feels and looks less dry and dull. My skin also feels firmer with a bit more elasticity than before. This is an interesting and worthwhile collagen supplement. It’s available at Watsons and Guardian stores nationwide.
