In a bid to raise funds and more awareness for MERCY Malaysia’s disaster-related programmes for local communities in Malaysia, The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) and the non-profit organization joined forces to kick off a fundraising event called ‘Appetite For Change’.
In keeping with the programme’s name, supporters of the inaugural ‘Appetite For Change’ were treated to a delicious range of home-style offerings from local homegrown halal family restaurant chain TCRS at its outlet at The Gardens where guests also had the opportunity to witness first-hand a demonstration on how the public can respond to different types of natural disasters.
YM Tunku Mu’tamir Bin Tunku Mohamed, Chairman of TCRS Restaurants Sdn Bhd and MERCY Malaysia President Dato’ Dr Ahmad Faizal Perdaus and other board members were present at the event for which close to 100 tickets were sold at RM200 each. Those who could not attend also donated funds towards this worthy cause.
The Chicken Rice Shop & MERCY Malaysia ‘Appetite For Change’ will be an annual event
All proceeds collected will go towards the General Humanitarian Fund by MERCY Malaysia which is primarily for local community programmes across the country. ‘Appetite For Change’ is slated to be a regular part of the calendar for both TCRS and MERCY Malaysia with the next event to be held next year.
